An extension is an independent plugin that you build in and release on the public server. The server is only updated when you hit play on your game.

A package on the other hand, includes several plugins and other tools you build. They are meant to help speed up development, not just update the entire server.

The distinction between an extension and a package is whether or not it is possible to play the game directly. Most package owners would use some sort of package management system (eg GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, etc.) to help automate the deployment process. This allows them to deploy new builds to new servers at the press of a button.

That is the reason the Play Console recommends always installing packages over extensions. How do I get my project into the Developer Center? To publish your project in the developer center, firstly you need to log in and create an account on developer.roblox.

Then, you must be ready to upload your project to a repository, like GitHub or Gitlab. If your project doesn't have a repository, it can be published on these sites too! If you already have one, you can navigate to File > New Repository on your Roblox dashboard.

Who created BTRoblox?

Well, my name is Kevin Harte, and I'm the Lead Developer at Tribute to Tron.

I've been programming for 12 years. My first game, Krazy Kangaroo, was a clone of Lemmings released on Windows 95.

As the lead developer, I spend my time designing and coding all the aspects of BTRoblox, including the gameplay, physics, AI, and UI. How did you get involved in the game industry? My uncle got me my first PC way back in the mid 90s. I remember seeing The Sims for the first time on his computer, and that was it for me. I just knew I had to make games!

When I was around 14, I was working at my uncle's small video game studio. It wasn't that big, but we did a lot of game design and programming. I worked as a programmer on a few different titles before moving on to university.

I graduated in 2025 with a degree in computer engineering. Since then I have been working in the games industry at several studios.

What is your role in the game industry? I work at Tribute to Tron as the Lead Developer. This means I do everything from creating and implementing gameplay to writing the AI and making the game visually appealing.

I also manage a team of artists, programmers, and designers. I try to ensure the best work is being done while keeping everyone happy and motivated.

Do you like your work? I enjoy what I do, and I love that we can make games that entertain people. I hope to make people happy, so yes, I like my job.

Do you have a favorite project? I think BTRoblox is my most favourite project. Even though it has so many issues, I think that's because I care so much about it. That doesn't mean I don't get annoyed with it sometimes, but at the end of the day I always appreciate the effort put into it.

I'm happy we can make great games that appeal to people. That's what it's all about.

Who is your favourite game developer? The original was awesome and gave us all a chance to play as awesome looking characters.

Will I be able to watch BTRoblox videos on my mobile device? Currently, there are no mobile apps that allow you to access the BTRoblox YouTube channel. However, over time, YouTube may improve mobile platforms so that all users can view BTRoblox.

Do You Need an ID to Watch BTRoblox? You do not need an ID or other form of verification to view videos from BTRoblox. They believe that sharing knowledge is beneficial to anyone and should be available without any verification at all.

Who Are the Partners of BTRoblox? BTRoblox partnered with many different companies over the years, providing valuable partnerships that helped BTRoblox grow. They have partnerships with Roblox itself, as well as educational companies such as Treehouse, Skillcrush, and Coursera.
