An important note: It's actually quite common for a show to have multiple versions released in different formats for example, Rick and Morty is currently streaming in five different versions of the show, with the first four being different from each other. So, when you see the show's name and one listing, click the series, and then click "Show more" to see the additional formats. As you'll see below, that's exactly what you'll see for Big Mouth's season 2 there are two versions of that season's episodes, and they can help you find any episodes that are missing or hard to stream.

When I say a show is "exclusive," I mean that they are only one platform, and you cannot watch them on the other. The exception is when an OVA episode isn't included in the release, in which case it's exclusive on both Amazon and Google Play just keep that in mind when you're looking through the list of shows that are exclusive to Netflix.

Is Japanese Netflix different?

I've been reading a lot about Netflix and their streaming video service lately, so I decided to take a look at their Japanese service to see if it was any different.

I think I've been using their service for almost a year, but I don't recall seeing a big difference from when I first signed up. Let's dive in!

The user interface. Unlike their English service, which is extremely basic, the Japanese version of Netflix is a more traditional streaming service. The layout is much more similar to that of a DVD rental service than a Netflix on demand service.

Here is the home screen: This is where you find your queue, browse, and cancel movies. If you scroll down on the home screen, you will see the recommended titles that the system thinks you might want to watch.

Here is the search screen: And here is the movie list: You can see that they have a lot of titles available. You can add any of these titles to your queue by clicking the Add to Queue button.

Here is the My Movies page: If you click on the My Movies button, you will be able to view your entire queue. You can also sort movies by release date or rental price.

I found this to be a much nicer interface than their English version. You can see everything you have added to your queue, but you can't see what is available in the streaming library. You also have the option to add a title to your queue, but you can't remove a title from your queue.

When you are done watching movies, you can close them out with the Close button. The viewing experience. I had heard that Netflix in Japan was much more lenient than their US counterpart. After watching a movie, it is difficult to tell when you have reached the end of the movie because there is no way to turn the movie off and resume watching it later. If you watch a movie for too long, it will be paused for you.

The problem is that this system can be very frustrating. When a movie is paused, the system is unable to play anything else until the movie is finished.
