Why won't Hulu work with a VPN?
The company makes billions of dollars from streaming content, and the fact that it's a U.
S. Company should be enough to allow it to stream the same content any other site would be able to stream.
If Hulu doesn't work with VPNs, it seems pretty obvious to me why -- it's simply because it is not willing to take advantage of its huge audience in the United States by letting people access it from outside the country. If Hulu wants to make its service available to all, it will need to change this policy, or it will risk losing a big chunk of the millions of people who watch video online. U. Users of Hulu, or any other website that blocks users based on their location, are asking why they can't access these sites if they're in the country. The answers seem to be obvious to anyone who's using the Internet at all: It's the United States, and we have laws that restrict what websites we can visit.
This is the way the world works. If you're from the United States, but you're reading this article on an Android phone (which does not require you to register your location) you may be tempted to answer that location-based blocking is wrong. You may say that it's a good idea to block people from viewing content that you don't want them to view, like child pornography or something like that.
The problem with your argument is that it would prevent me from viewing this article, if I'm in the United States. This is what the U. Government wants. It wants to control what content I can view, so that I don't get the wrong ideas about other countries.
(And it's not like there aren't countries with rules that allow adults to view adult content -- it's just that they're far less restrictive than the U.) U.
