Why won't Netflix let me download?

I have been having a terrible time getting my Netflix download subscription to work in Firefox.

It has worked well from day one when I switched to Mozilla, but last week it stopped working. Each time I try and do a download it tells me that no video is available for the download. I've been told on multiple occasions that nothing is available, but a new window pops up saying. "Sorry no media available for the download". A few months ago I downloaded the Windows and Windows 7 version of the download program, which does work. After doing the Windows .exe file version a few times the program stopped working in Mozilla and it was very difficult to get my subscription working again.

Since then I've had other programs to try to get Netflix to work. One that won't even install as it says it can't be installed. I also tried two different versions of WINE.

The newest (1.5 or 1.6 or 1.7) will not install at all. In fact it crashes with an error about needing 32 bit libraries and refuses to install. It won't uninstall after trying to use that install version.

The original version of this program wouldn't install because an "Out of Sync" error would always appear. The 1.4 version would sometimes load, sometimes not. The latest version, the 2.0 version has not made any progress on the problem. There are multiple people saying that they can download the files to save, but when you try it yourself, it never saves any files.

This program is not compatible with the Linux version of Firefox at all. Any one else having this problem? If so how did you get rid of it? I've already paid my subscription, there is no way I am going to pay for a program that doesn't work. I've had the same problems in the past, but I don't think I have ever lost the service, as much as the downloader wouldn't work after that. Try to remember if you did anything to change the account settings to your Netflix account as far as bandwidth goes, or anything. If not, the problem is in their DNS servers. Did you ever have any problems accessing the website outside of their service before trying to download the movie?

Hi All, this problem has been bugging me for ages, and was even referred to the web master of the site.
