McCarthy The first question on a typical conversation among those of the Chinese-American persuasion might not come from a Chinese person, but rather a friend who is wondering if Chinese products that are advertised all over the world are truly genuine and can be trusted. With so many Chinese American manufacturers and business owners out there to keep an eye on, it does help to ask those questions, and even get some basic information. The truth is, the answer is yes. I was also going to add another answer which was; yes and no, but let me take the liberty to tell you how I came up with this information.

I was a little surprised at the amount of questions that I have received via email, phone calls, and social media regarding Chinese American Made in America brands. It could certainly make for interesting reading (at least if you like to read). What is most shocking is not only that these brands exist, but these brands still exist relatively unchanged. In fact some would go so far as to say these brands are actually making more money now than at any time over the past 15 years. Even so I have found myself wondering why?

My conclusion is simple. The brand is Chinese. I was shocked too. Not really.

The reasons are many: Why are all these Made in USA companies Chinese, while a majority of other countries have made this investment (and continue to)? Can America be a factory again? It seems that this question is being asked every day in the media and on the internet. I thought it best to start by taking a step back and asking why we even need to debate it. It just seems to me that the question of whether America is still the world's preeminent factory has been answered quite clearly. So why debate it? We shouldn't need to except it makes good ratings, it plays to our base, and it keeps us informed. But that's the easy part. No argument, no argument. Just a good old American debate on something we can't fix and won't agree on that's the hard part. When will that debate stop? What do you think?
