Is Browsec free?
I have a couple of old windows boxes, and the only thing they have is AVG free.
Does Browsec come with anti-virus? No it's not free. You can find the link for that in the FA"It's like watching a train wreck; you can't look away, but at the same time, you feel bad for the guy in the back of the train who has no idea what's going on."--Rocky Balboa
Does Browsec come with anti-virus?"--Rocky Balboa. I'm asking because I see no mention of it. Am I blind? It just says "Browsec is a product of G-Host. Either way I don't want it.
Sorry, but this thread is about Browsec, not G-Host. My bad.

What is Browsec used for?
Browsec uses two different technologies for detection and mitigation of malware.
The first technology is to identify malicious executable (PE) files by signature identification and/or static analysis. This technology is based on the premise that the characteristics of malicious executables and benign executables are sufficiently distinct to allow for accurate automated identification. The second technology is to analyze the actions that the compromised computer performs in response to particular file types or categories of malicious executables to try to understand the motives of the attacker, and how they intend to exploit a user's computer. This helps us to determine what is "normal" behavior for a system which has been infected with malware, and what are the behaviors that are indications of compromise or other malicious intent. The information gathered can then be used to build profiles which help to predict the future behavior of the compromised system, and make decisions about the proper course of action to prevent additional compromise.
An example would be if we are able to reliably identify an executable that a user downloads or opens. We could then detect this threat and give a warning that informs the user that it is downloaded or opened from a suspicious site.
Browsec uses a combination of signature based detection (signature identification & analysis) and behavioural detection (analysis of the actions of the host computer in response to particular categories of threat executable). How does Browsec work? Browsec works by creating a network bridge between the infected computer and a server (often referred to as the "Detection Server"). Once the connection is established, the server sends the information from the infected computer to the detection server, and is connected to the client. This connection will allow Browsec to view the screen contents of the infected computer, detect actions that it is taking, and collect additional information. It is important to note that Browsec only connects to an infected computer when its system is under attack.
The client application (in our case a browser) acts as a bridge between Browsec and the infected computer by establishing an invisible session, in the form of a TCP/IP connection. The server provides the following services: 1. Identification of dangerous software that may have been downloaded to the client's system.
2. The gathering of information about the actions of the computer on each visit to Internet-based websites.
Which country is Browsec based in?
I just signed up and I wanted to know what country my card is being accepted in.
Thanks! I think there's an option to see it, on the register page. When you sign up you get to pay for your card in your home country. Then all of your orders/credit etc. Goes to a different country than where you live (at least that's how it works for eu cards). The actual company that gives out the cards is based in Canada so that might have something to do with it.
The credit card numbers are encrypted and decrypted at the PCI level when the transaction is processed and captured so whether your home country is US, UK, Canada or any other country, your purchase history will be the same. This depends entirely on whether Browsec is working with one of the big payment processors (Visa, MasterCard, Paypal etc.) They are not actually giving you a credit card, they are doing the processing as far as I can tell.
If it is their direct merchant then their processing takes place in the country where they are based. Some of them are quite transparent about this ie PayPal (a subsidiary of Amazon) don't have international offices but they use PayPal everywhere.
In the case of Browsec their merchant is in China so the answer to that is 'they're based in China', but if you check out their official website, they show the processing details for Canada, Switzerland and the UK as well as the U. So it's not really clear to me how this works. Some of them are quite transparent about this ie PayPal (a subsidiary of Amazon) don't have international offices but they use PayPal everywhere.
It seems like Browsec uses Paypal Payments Pro which is available internationally but if that's the case, this must be the case, the payment processor is in USA (the company that holds your CC info) and the merchant is in China.
