Even if you live under a government that has no particular laws regarding what it can do to you, it's better if you keep away from anything that might be of interest to them. The more you understand about where your internet connection really goes, and how your information is being used, the better you can protect yourself.

I have a PPTP VPN configured on my CentOS 5.6 system. I have a network of four other CentOS 5.6 systems which have the same VPN set up. When I access these sites via my VPN, I can surf the web fine.

I have been using the free version of PrivateVPN for awhile, and it worked perfectly for a long time, but now it does not connect to my VPN.
