How do I block Chrome extensions in group policy?
I'd like to block Chrome extensions in my domain (ie I'm an admin on the computer) from being loaded when browsing to a specific website. I don't need to be logged in or anything, just need to make sure that extensions are not allowed on that page.
I've been able to block some extensions with the following command: gpedit.msc -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Windows Components -> Microsoft Edge and then set the following policy to not allow extensions to run. However, when I navigate to the page and use the extension, it still loads. I've tested this with both an ad blocker extension and a browser extension that adds a bookmark to a webpage.
How do I completely block an extension from being loaded in a domain, so that when I open the extension, it doesn't even show up in the Extensions list? The answer is that you can't. The only way to accomplish this is to be logged into your Windows account and to be actively browsing the website as you'd normally browse it. It's the same as if you were on a computer at home. Extensions work only when you're logged into your account and when the page is loaded by your account.
If you use the same account to log into a web-based service, you can use the browser's "incognito" mode to circumvent the problem. The extensions will still work in this mode.

How do I disable extensions in Chrome?
I have a Google Chrome extension that was installed by the Chrome Web Store.
It was working fine until it stopped working all of a sudden. I don't know why or how it happened. I've been to the store and there are no updates listed. I haven't installed anything manually, so I think the problem is with the extension itself.
How do I disable the extension? Go to Chrome's Extensions page and click on "More tools" in the upper right. It will show you all of your installed extensions.
Click the icon for the extension you wish to remove. When you find it, right-click on it and select "Remove". You can also find and remove it from the Extensions tab in Chrome. This will cause Chrome to automatically download the latest version of the extension if it is currently out of date.
It will be under C:UsersyourusernameAppDataLocalGoogleChromeExtensions. So go there and delete the extension, it will be restored the next time you open chrome.
