How do I stop Google Chrome from showing my search history?

How do I hide my Chrome history?

Is there a Chrome extension that does that?

As a Chrome user, I am aware of various ways to clear the cache or the history. And one of the most common way is just to delete the files.

However, that can be a bit annoying when your computer doesn't have access to some important files that you can always find back at some point. This may happen if you sync them to a cloud drive or if someone deletes them accidentally when they do an offline sync for whatever reason. There is a way to force Chrome to ignore a certain file.

But what if you cannot get access to them after that? I would imagine a lot of users would ask themselves: "?". Is there some kind of extension out there, that does this by itself? Thank you! It's called Time Machine on Chrome and you just need to install it.

How do I stop people from seeing my browsing history?

It seems that when you search for terms on a social media website like Facebook, Google, LinkedIn or Twitter, many people can see your browsing history.

I know that I usually use the incognito mode on the web browser but most people don't know how to do this. How do I make it so that no one can see my browsing history when using the web browser?

I did not know that they could see your history. I was using google with private browsing and it wouldn't let me leave it.

You have to go into the settings, preferences or options and change where it says 'Remember your browsing history'. Do you mean that I should change the setting "Clear Browsing Data" in the privacy tab of the settings page to off (not default)? Also, is there any way that I can prevent facebook from knowing what I search for? Or is that something they have known about and I was just being a dumbass?
