Is Nintendo 2DS discontinued?

Is the 2DS cheaper than the 3DS?

I can't find anywhere where I can get the 2DS cheap as an upgrade for my 3DS XL, can anyone help me?

The new "paper" versions of Zelda are out in Japan today. There are some great shots online at NintendoPower Japan.

But, here is a nice little teaser from Dengeki: In the same vein as the DS Lite announcement, is it also being sold now, or is that just for Japan?99 plus tax in the US.99 here in Canada. That's pretty much at the same price point as the 3DS XL (if you're still trying to decide if you want the XL). But there's so many more games on the 2DS that there is no question that you'll be spending more money than you would on a 3DS XL.

As far as the price point goes, Nintendo could have gone a number of ways: 1) Get rid of the 2DS and go back to the DS Lite. I don't think they will though since they're introducing a whole new system with the 3DSXL, so their motivation is probably different.

3) A hybrid price point - if the 2DS is cheaper than the 3DSXL, it's probably because it is selling for less than the cost of the 3DS. 4) They could price the 2DS at the same as the 3DSXL. Why pay more for a newer system, even if it's backwards compatible? The 2DS is not exactly obsolete.

The big question is how much does the 2DS sell for in the US? Are they planning to sell more games for the system, or are they simply going to try to sell more units by throwing in more extras for a lower price? It's an obvious option. It's also a good option, since 2DS would be a good fit for kids ages 6 to 14.

How much will a Nintendo 2DS sell for?
