Can police track Surfshark VPN?

Surfshark VPN is a new entrant in the VPN market. We've seen some of the major players come and go over the years and it's refreshing to see a new one take the field. We've been using Surfshark for a couple of months now and we can tell you that we've been very impressed with their service. The free version gives you access to an unlimited number of servers and this is what sets them apart from the rest.

The problem with Surfshark though is that you can only access these servers when you're connected to the internet. If you want to make use of your VPN when you're on the move, you're out of luck. That's where the paid version comes in.

You'll find that their customer service is really good and they're very responsive to any issues that you might encounter. What's in the Surfshark VPN? We're going to look at some of the key features of Surfshark VPN in a little more detail. There are a few things that you'll need to know before you sign up for Surfshark VPN. For example, you'll need to download and install the Surfshark VPN client on your computer or smartphone. Since this update many of those features are now in place and can be selected for your needs, and what better way of showing that than by creating a short review.

There are now many sections where you can choose, such as location, payment type and connection settings, and even a section about servers, which offers a number of great options. But I would like to focus on location and also payment methods that the Surfshark offers.

Location. To find your specific location, make sure you select this box at the top right hand side and then scroll down to find the section where you can change it. Here we can see the available options. Simply select the option which best fits your needs.

Speed & Data Limit. Once you have chosen the location, speed & data will come up on the next screen. Here you can pick between: No data. Low cap. High cap. Unlimited. There are not many other options to configure here. But what I would like to talk about is the data limit for each option. The following screenshot shows it. I've chosen Unliminted to ensure that there is no limit. You can also see that some countries may cost more to connect to. If you need to use a specific country then that could be a good option but for the countries you can see below a limit will come up when you start using data.

Connections. When you finish selecting your country and speed/data plan you will see an empty box for connections. In this case we have chosen high caps and 4 connections, which is enough for most of us.

Does Surfshark hide my IP?

Why do some sites on the Internet seem to think that Surfshark is malicious, but some others don't? My company's IT department has been getting a lot of complaints about my internet connection being cut off. One explanation that they have been offering to people is that I am using Surfshark. They say they can see in my account page that I am using Surfshark (in some states this is against the law, and a violation of their TOS). Other accounts that they have been looking at use Comcast with no problems. What's going on here? Is Surfshark responsible for my connection being cut off?
Most websites are free to make inferences about what kind of software you are using. Your ISP may decide not to block it and/or may allow them to make such inferences (for whatever reason, I don't know about the laws in your country). You are not obligated to keep the ISP from making such inferences.

If you are concerned about it, you should talk to your ISP. I don't think this kind of thing would be cause for concern.

Is Surfshark really private?

When you sign up with Surfshark, you get a VPN service, and then you have access to the web. Surfshark has an interface on their website that lets you configure it and add users. But when I click on add user, I get an error message. I tried to add a new user, but it keeps saying that it was successful, but that it cannot find any connection. I have to click on Add again for each new user I try to add.

And, if you need to log in, then Surfshark requires you to have a credit card number. While Surfshark is a VPN provider, it doesn't provide a VPN service. It works like a proxy server or SOCKS server. Surfshark uses third party servers in the USA to mask your IP address, not a VPN server in a different country. So, Surfshark isn't really private at all. Now, there are other VPNs out there that will give you more privacy, but I don't think any of them are as easy to use as Surfshark. But, Surfshark can help you make it appear that you are using a different IP address and location. So, Surfshark is a tool that lets you fool others into thinking that you are somewhere else. So, it is a tool, but it's not really a VPN service. Surfshark also has an affiliate program. You can earn up to 75% commissions by referring friends. It's possible that some of them will decide to sign up for Surfshark too. The company doesn't disclose how many users they have. But, in September 2023, they had 500,000 monthly active users. They only offer a free trial, so you have to decide for yourself whether it's worth paying for their services. Pros. Free. Simple to use. Fooling websites into thinking you are in another country. Cons. It's a cheap service. I don't recommend it.

It uses third party servers, not your own VPN server.
