How do I fix error while retrieving metadata Aloha?
I am using Hbase to store the data.
While trying to retrieve the metadata, I get the below error.
Caused by: org.apache.hadoop.hbase.client.RetriesExhaustedException: Retry attempts for row-key xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx failed due to java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method 'boolean java.util.List.isEmpty()' on a null object reference.
at org.ResultBatch.getRow(ResultBatch.java:879)
at org.HBaseAdmin.copyColumns(HBaseAdmin.java:722)
at org.getColumns(HBaseAdmin.java:1137)
at org.mapreduce.TableMapper.initTable(TableMapper.java:83)
at org.createTableMapper(TableMapper.java:59)
at org.map(TableMapper.java:74)
at org.map(TableMapper.java:39)
at com.HbaseMapReduce.main(HbaseMapReduce.java:50)
This happens when you are setting up your keyspace to HBase, but there are no table/columns available to use for this key. You should be able to check the contents of the HBase cluster with: /usr/hdp/current/hadoop/hbase-unsecure/bin/hbase namenode -f /tmp/hbase-namenode.properties -p 8086,8090 -v The output should look something like: 16/12/29 14:48:46 INFO hbase.HBaseConfiguration: Created 'test.
