Why can't I get torrentio on Stremio?

Hi guys, I've been running Stremio on my phone for a long time and it's pretty good so far.

I like having a dedicated client for Android, it runs fast and you can customize settings to your liking. But since I started using torrents a few months ago, Stremio hasn't played a part in downloading them (which as far as I know it does not block IP). So it is just a plain old browser that opens URLs as links which will then download the files. Is this perhaps because of privacy settings or what? I don't like that. How do I get torrents to open in the Stremio client? The last versions of Stremio on Android have a big issue with opening torrents, I think it has something to do with their own app being blocked by uBlock Origin, but I'm not sure. Is there a way around that? Thank you very much.

I don't use torrents anymore, but perhaps it's because Stremio doesn't use it's own torrenting library, rather it uses libtorrent. That way, if anything is blocking torrents, that should apply only to what they're using and not for everything. And as far as I can tell, none of the torrent clients I've tried are blocked by uBlock Origin.

There seems to be two issues: Stremio's own app being blocked, but I don't use torrents, and uBlock isn't stopping torrents from launching properly. This is the reason it's not working for me. I don't know how uBlock is deciding that it's not blocking anything when I'm running it, while the browser sees it as such. Can you tell me how to get it to work with torrents?

You didn't mention what torrent software you're using in the OP, and I didn't look at other torrent apps until later. But you are right that torrents are most certainly NOT blocked by uBlock Origin. And your question would better posed for the OP of the linked thread on Reddit.

So what I just did was remove the uBlock Origin app from my device. That is because it's interfering with torrents, so now I get them to work in the torrent app and Stremio's client. I could remove it from my Stremio client instead and it should work. However, I think that's a bit drastic.

Which addons to install in Stremio?

Hey, I'm trying to add a few addons to Stremio.

They are all from the website of the addons. It is an addons manager where you can install them, see what works and remove them if you don't want them anymore.

I did not download all these files because I was only going to download one at a time. However, I need to know which addons to download, as they are not showing up in the addons manager, even though they say they are in there.

I have the addons manager installed already. Do I need to download all these files or can I just download the right file? Thanks! If you want the newest version, you can install it from your phone or download it from the web. Then you can go to the website and add it to the app.

Hi, I understand your frustration but please be patient. We are trying to resolve this issue. It seems that torrentio is not fully compatible with Stremio. If it was working before, it should still work now.

Torrentio is a browser extension and Stremio requires you to log into our site before you can play back torrents. This is a known issue and has been reported by other users as well. This is also why we are working hard to solve this. Thank you for your patience.
