Why is my VPN not working on Netflix Android?

Why is my VPN not working on Netflix Android?

I have a NordVPN account with unlimited bandwidth. I am currently unable to watch BBC1 on my android device using the VPN connection it always gets me a code 5 message from Netflix. It only works if it is direct.

Am I doing something wrong or is it the case that the NordVPN app doesn't do a very good job at supporting Netflix yet and I need to use another way of streaming TV using the app? Is there a third party app that does a better job with the NordVPN? Can anyone point me to a third party app or guide me as to how I can make it work? You are using a vpn and a router for that purpose and you still are experiencing issues with your netflix account? Are you sure you are using your vpn correctly? I'm assuming you have no issues in other apps, such as Facebook, google search? I agree the issue that you are having is with Netflix not your VPN, the issue comes down to your ISP not blocking their IPs but with a vpn your VPN will not affect that. But it will block you from accessing other apps because your routing is through a VPN server.

Your ISP is blocking it, so you wouldn't get an error if you were directly connected to it. If your connection isn't strong enough though, then your phone will probably time out and you won't be able to watch it because the download can't be done quick enough.

As for it being the VPN issue, you need to make sure you are connecting to a server it supports. You can see your current connection on your VPN Connections screen on Netflix.

It could be the problem on netflix side.

Why does NordVPN not work on Netflix anymore?

According to NordVPN's forum posts, they have stopped working on that particular service.

This seems pretty strange if it was indeed just a minor technical problem. It has been the main selling point of NordVPN, which is a service not many know about or would even recognize. NordVPN users from across the globe were complaining that this feature doesn't work any longer.

The reason this happened so suddenly, is because Netflix has just gone live with 4K streaming, and for most Netflix subscribers (around 75% of them), that means a higher video resolution requirement. This means that in order to stream a higher resolution stream Netflix will now make use of a different streaming protocol, HLS. This protocol has been in beta for a while, but since its release Netflix has been implementing this as their streaming protocol. This is how it is supposed to work, but there seem to be issues getting HLS working properly on all network connections and devices, let alone when it comes to NordVPN using this feature.

So in short: Netflix stopped working with the NordVPN application, for some reason, the devs don't know why, and that is the last we've heard from them on the topic. Until then, if you're still a Netflix subscriber and have an account and a subscription, then you won't be able to stream 4K to your device as long as NordVPN doesn't provide a solution.

The NordVPN solution was simply to switch networks using the application, and that is something that they've been unable to do. At the moment, there's currently no solution from NordVPN as to why Netflix decided to stop working.

The developers claim they've updated their website with information on how to enable HLS over NordVPN. That part seems like a step in the right direction at least. But how to get HLS working properly? I don't know. For this, you might need to call support and ask for their advice.

The reason why NordVPN stopped working is because of the issue of how to set up the right settings correctly. You can't call or send them an email asking why there's no HLS option for Netflix anymore, as it's currently not working. It's not a good way of getting them to resolve the problem.

Does NordVPN work with Netflix on Android?

NordVPN is one of the fastest VPNs that can be used for Netflix streaming in the US.

The company is based in Panama and is the only provider in the world that works with Netflix streaming on Android. NordVPN is available for iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac, Linux and some routers.

You can download the NordVPN app from Google Play store and use it to get access to Netflix and other streaming services in the US. If you are using an Android phone, you can simply download the NordVPN app from Google Play.

The company has recently introduced a NordVPN service for Android. While this might seem like an addition to an existing product, this is actually a completely new service. The NordVPN for Android app was launched last week.
