How do I connect my Netflix to my TV?
If you have a smart TV it will be able to make a Netflix connection, you need to follow this simple process.
Firstly, you will need a new Smart TV or you may already own one that has been upgraded to access the Netflix TV app from then on. Next step is to set up the Netflix app itself on your TV and start searching for content.
If you haven't got a smart TV with a Netflix experience, then you are going to need an active TV account (one where you previously subscribe) and a computer, tablet or smartphone with an updated app. To get started you need to login to your Netflix account, go to the homepage, scroll to 'My Account' under the My List icon and choose 'My TV' option. This action should set up Netflix on the connected TV. If it doesn't work, check again for a few minutes because the servers may need a short rest.
You then need to open the Netflix app on your device. Navigate to the home screen, press the tab to find 'TV' and select 'Netflix' from the drop down menu. At this point you can choose to use 'Local TV' or 'Web View' on the TV but we recommend 'Web View' as it makes it easier for the TV to search automatically. From here you will have to enter your TV account number on your device which is your unique, four-digit access code. As soon as you log in you should see 'Welcome to Netflix on your TV'.
The TV account can be accessed by using the unique four digit password from the previous step. You can create more than one 4 digit password, but try to use only 4 alphanumeric characters. Enter the unique TV password you were sent on the TV and a message stating this will display on the TV, if there is not enough space to show this message. After you click 'OK' the TV will take a few seconds to verify the Netflix credentials. The next screen is a series of Netflix menus where you can browse and search content. In the last step of set up you are asked if you want to set it up to use your home wifi password so it connects automatically. If you want to do this, simply enter the home network password instead.
Why can't i cast Netflix to my TV?
Netflix streaming has only been around for a couple years now, but in that time it's been adopted by nearly a billion people around the world.
At this point, it's only in about 100 more countries and it's very likely that you've had some experience with Netflix streaming. If you're like me, you're frustrated with your slow computer or TV and you're wondering, why can't I cast Netflix? This is what happened to me.
I bought an Internet-connected TV about a year ago. It was part of an Internet-connected home media system that also gave me access to Hulu Plus and Pandora internet radio. The box claims to offer streaming media over the Internet through Chromecast or Apple AirPlay, but when I plugged it in to my PC or iPad, nothing ever happens. My TV and its Internet connection just won't allow it.
Is the problem on Netflix's end? To be clear, Netflix is accessible on most televisions. According to a support article, if you have a smart TV with Chromecast built in, we'll work as hard as we can to bring Netflix to you. Of course, it would be nice to see other streaming services like Hulu Plus and HBO Go integrated. They don't have access to the same number of TVs as Netflix.
I called Netflix tech support and they explained the process to me. They suggested that the problem lies in the setup of my router. Once they saw that everything was fine with the router, they told me to do two things: change my DNS address on the TV and turn off the WiFi on my router.
The easiest way to set up your DNS address on your router is to use the DNS tool available online. Type it into the box and wait about 20 seconds. Then refresh your page and you should see a different DNS address than before.
Changing your DNS address from the router's menu should take less than five minutes to complete, and you should then restart your router. You may need to unplug your router for a few minutes while it restarts, so be prepared for that.
How do I change my DNS address? Open a browser and search for a custom DNS address. The address will usually look like 10.8.1 or something similar.

What's this "Netflix" icon next to some movies? This is just a reminder that there's a movie on Netflix that you might want to watch. You can always find out more about the movie by selecting the Netflix icon, and then selecting the More Details option.
What if I want to watch a movie but I don't know what it's called? Use the search function to look for the movie, and you can also look for popular titles, actors, and directors. Where can I watch movies? You can watch movies at Netflix in the United States, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India, Mexico, and Japan.
