Why can't I put none on iTunes payment?

How do I select none for Apple ID payment?

I'm on a Macbook Pro and the App Store insists I must have an Apple ID registered. I've set up my account to my, but don't understand why it is not accepting this. The only option I can find is "none".

I've tried with no email (not verified), no phone (no number), and added just my ID. The error appears regardless of whether I sign in to the App Store with my new Apple ID or my old one. I've reset the App Store account and everything.

Anyone have any idea? Thanks. I've just gone through a similar thing on 10.8. The issue was that you couldn't use an existing Apple ID. When I created a new Apple ID, I was able to figure this out. I hope that helps.

Why is there no None option for Apple ID?

Is there separate post for talking about development and iOS with regard to Apple ID in App Development? Why can't I put none on iTunes payment?

I purchased an album from the Apple Store and I cannot authorize to pay it using bank information. Many people have reported they see my payment as "paying for the latest42 minutes" while my iTunes seems to show "none". Both are correct per iTunes but iTunes cannot show me anything else I want to display.

I actually don't mind having the charge from the App Store show as none because it is a great record of all my purchases from App Store but why the inconsistency between the shows. What am I missing? Actually it appears to be consistent for me in that there is a line across the top of my purchases from the app store that says "paid for the latest item". That said, I will often see "paid for the latest21 minutes" as an overall label for a number of purchases (it does appear to be the whole purchase at once) when "None" doesn't match on the app itself. I just want to know needs to contain in-app purchases. Sorry if this is a repeat for users. I saw another question that suggested copying the payment details and pasting them directly into your terminal but have not yet tried this yet.

Please help me out here! Can't you find how to log into iTunes/App Store and authorize to pay with bank info from there? I'm anxious to use itunes connect, but for the love of god, I might as well feel like I can pay my bills without using my bank account after mom figured out I was going to do that. Change the payment type in the app to prefer credit card, then approve the Apple ID used to accept credit cards. Done.

I do see your point in changing over to "credit card" mode however I am unable to use any form of payment for in-app purchases. I'll in fact be able to do this from iTunes connect by "manually" entering in the payment information for the app I purchased, but it will still only show "none" on the app purchase, even though on the Purchases tab on iTunes Connect it states "Paid for the latest 42 minutes".

When you send me a ticket, would you mind telling me what you see for the payment form so I know exactly what you're seeing too? I am trying to purchase an album, an album that was already part of my library.
