Is all camellia oil the same?
I was thinking about purchasing all camellia oil and have seen that there is 3 types of oil sold by various retailers.
1st is from the canola family (2nd), 3rd is from the mustard family (4th) and the last is called camellia (5th). I am having trouble deciding which one to buy and don't want to pay extra for the wrong one. The camellia is supposed to be good for cooking and keeping you hands soft and moisturized and the other two for skin care? I am very interested in using all camellia oil because I just don't want to waste time oiling my hands. Can anyone tell me if they think this is the right oil to purchase?
I know that some people like the camellia and some the others. I haven't tried any myself but I wouldn't pay extra for it.
I'd say go with what you know works for you. The best way to find out if it's right for you is to try it out.
I don't know how much you pay for your camellia oil but if it's just pennies, then why not buy it anyway? It's free. If you use it for a while, then decide if it's for you or not, then you'll know where to go.
There is no difference in all the oils. The only difference is the concentration. As long as the oil is food grade and has the right amount of camellia oil, you should be fine.
To answer your question, the camellia oil is not meant to be used as a cooking oil. The oil is not edible.
If you want a cooking oil, then I would suggest a canola oil or a rice bran oil.

I don't think it's safe.
I can leave it in for a few hours, but not overnight. I'll be experimenting this weekend to see how long I can leave it in before washing it out.

I've used camellia oil on my hair as a leave-in conditioner and left it in for a couple of hours. I find it gives good results.
I've left it in for a few hours and it works fine. I really only use it for the smell.
