How do I unblock Chrome extensions from administrator?

How do I get rid of administrator enforced in Chrome?

I'm using Google Chrome in Ubuntu 16.04.

Whenever I open the browser, it shows up with administrator enforced (for Linux users) option checked. How do I get rid of it? Open /etc/chromium-browser/Default/Preferences with your favorite text editor and remove the line: "extensions.linux.permissions.auto": true
In my case it was located at: /usr/share/chromium-browser/Default/Preferences. I was able to do this on a fresh install of Ubuntu 17.10 by using this command: sudo sed -i '/extensions.auto/d' /usr/lib/chromium-browser/defaultpreferences To be more specific, it was in: Open Chrome's preferences and go to "Settings" and uncheck the box that says "Administrator Enforced".

How do I add extensions to Chrome if blocked?

My browser has been blocked by security software from the company that installed it. I'm told that the company is not able to provide a support solution for these problems.

I need to be able to add extensions (in Chrome and other browsers) to my user profile so that I may continue to use my computer without having to sign in with my real identity every time. How can I do this? I've tried searching online and on the Chrome Web Store for some help, but the only results are for how to remove the blocker from an account.

As for Chromium, here's what you need to do: Visit the official Web Store page. You can browse the store with the built-in browser, or you can get there by clicking the Chrome icon in the address bar and typing chrome://chrome-store .

Check the box next to the extension you want to install. Click the Install button. It will download and install the extension. Now you can use it without signing in again.

For Firefox: Go to the official Firefox Add-ons site. Select your version of Firefox from the dropdown menu. Click the New Extension. Link to the right of the page.

Choose an extension from the list. You'll get a form where you can enter a name, description, and some additional information (which will appear in the browser's Add-on Manager). When you're done, just press Install.
