For Android users, you can get the default config file (openvpn.conf) and follow these instructions.

Should proxy settings be on or off?

This is what you will see in your browser's proxy settings: You can change your settings like this. Firefox: Go to about:config, search for network.http.pwdedge and set the value to "off".

Internet Explorer: Type "about:" in the address bar and press enter. In the new window look at the "Proxy" tab. Set that to "None" if its on, you don't want it to use your IP. (this is probably the settings you want)

That will close out of this window and allow you to go back into your Chrome browser without any proxy or authentication requirements.

How do I use a VPN with a proxy?

1- Do you know how to use a VPN with a proxy server? I am using a router called D-Link DNS-323 with DD-WRT firmware. The router has this feature called Dynamic DNS and I would like to know if I could use that and if it would be worth while for me to purchase a new router if I were to do so.

What's the difference between the D-Link DNS-323 and the Linksys WRT54GL? I thought the Linksys was much more flexible in terms of how you setup the network.

For the DNS-323 - the only way to use it's settings is through the DD-WRT menu or by connecting an ethernet cable. I've been told that it is possible to change the setting through the DHCP if you had another DHCP server setup. But to change the dns address through the DD-WRT I have to log into the web interface as root.

As for the Linksys, one of the other options would be to do a factory reset or to flash the DD-WRT back to stock firmware. I'll see if I can find out what the other options are, hopefully.
