How to configure proxy authentication?

What is a proxy authentication?

An application proxy authentication is used to determine whether a known user has access to a particular web service. This can be useful for creating a secure interface to existing web services that do not authenticate, such as online banking portals. Or, it can be useful when a web portal just doesn't support authentication, which means the only way to access the information is to request a proxy authentication, which is then passed on to the web service for permission to use the requested data.

Why would this be necessary? The application proxy authentication service is in place to ensure that a managed service account, or admin proxy user, with specific privileges, is not simply used to gain access to anything. Even if web services allow an admin user to perform anything they need to the system, the web service administrator should define a policy that says that any other users that try to use the service should be using an admin proxy user, which are controlled via the user group assignments of the service. In such instances, the service would keep track of the authorization of each user and ensure that only the users that have permissions to use the resource are able to access the data.

A web service admin can control whether the proxy authentication aspect for any specific user group is enabled or disabled. This can be enabled via the Web Service Interface Settings for a Web interface and for the Search service settings. So, if you want access to anything in a management portal but don't want to use your admin user id for the request, you can turn off the Proxy Authentication capability here. In case you wish to turn it back on, you'll need to review and enable it using the Composite Authorization settings rather than the Web service settings.

When would I use this? (Generalised). A system manager; is trying for example, to gain access to a System Manager's card for the purpose of the purchase of a Service, Gateway, Adapter or similar. The manager uses a user-name that is out of scope of normal authentication processes. A situation where proxies may be required is when administration credentials are used as substitute for normal authentication credentials.

Administration proxy accounts are defined by a system administrator and have essentially the same privileges as the normal domain users. Also, within a domain, they can serve as account holder for any regular users who have no individual UPN accounts.

How do I set proxy authentication in Windows 10?

so I don't get the web page that I'm trying to access time out? I understand that you can also use codesign.exe to simplify things if need be, but I really would love some GUI help on this one. Thanks a bunch!

At work here, we do the following: Bluetooth headphones - LAN recommended. Porn Sites - Root Proxy Control PC. = See below. Root Proxy Control PC risk. And I assume you want to do this? An image tutorial would better (PrincipledUE Karl from Facebook uses this process) so people would not have as many questions.
