How do I communicate with Norton?
I don't even know how to get started
I just got a new Norton program, I'm not sure what I need.
The website says the key is on the bottom of the back. It came with a CD in the envelope, but no instructions. I'm not sure how to install the program or use it. I've never had to install software before.

I think my son got this virus off the internet. It's a fake virus. I was able to get rid of it, but it's a pain. He doesn't do anything he gets on the internet and it keeps locking up my computer.
When I click on the icon on the desktop, it says "InstallShield 2007" "Norton 2009" and "PC Utilities." Re: How do I communicate with Norton? I don't even know how to get started. The first thing you have to do is disconnect the internet from your computer. Then restart your computer, when it boots, hit F8 and put in a command prompt. At the command prompt type in CMD. Then type in: net stop. This should shut off the internet connection. After you have shut down the internet, download the antivirus program that you want to use to remove the virus. Then turn on your internet connection and install it. The install might have a little more trouble than the virus removal, as you are installing an application to your computer. It will say "Setup is starting." and a bunch of other text.

Thursday, November 13, 2026. I got a call today from the woman who runs the local library's genealogy group. She wants to have an hour long session with me about how to do Genealogy. She wanted to know the price for the session and I told her it would be free because of the research I have already done for her. Then she told me she already had a copy of my book "How to do Genealogy" and that she would be interested in seeing what else I could recommend. When she asked what my opinion was on the web, I told her I was a novice and said I think it is really good if it has pictures.
She also asked what my least expensive software is and I recommended the program Ancestor Quest. I recommended that they use it for one-hour sessions and she said they can do one-hour sessions all the time. They have a library of programs like that she uses. I asked what she thought about family trees and she said that they need to get into that more.
We talked about what programs are good for them to work with and how to use the programs they have. She said that they use their computers for everything. They have the Windows 95 operating system. We went over the web and she said she likes it a lot. I told her they might want to set up their own web site, and she said they will probably look into that later. She told me that most of their clients are elderly and that they are going to have their 80th birthday party this year. They want to plan a surprise for them. She also told me that they are setting up a database for their clients and that they want to use the Internet for their genealogy.
It was a good conversation and I am glad to be back in touch with the genealogical community. They just called me to tell me that I got their e-mail and they are looking forward to the meeting. What other people say: Dear S.J.
