How do I change my Apple store to Japanese?
And also is there any way to change the Japanese Apple store to English? I don't really know what that means, but I think the Apple store in Japan and Apple support in English. My Japanese isn't very good and I'm only a beginner.
Do you have any idea as to when this information will be available? Also, I assume this won't change the app store itself? Is that the case? I'm just wondering, because I want to try it out, because I have an iPad 3 (which doesn't work with my current iPad 2.) Thank you. Last edited by sgch on Wed May 31, 2023 9:05 am, edited 1 time in total. I was finally able to do something about it! I changed my iPad to Japanese and it worked perfectly! There were no apps on the store or anything, it was completely blank, and I didn't even install an application, it just automatically switched! It did work, I installed some apps and so on. But I'm using iPhone 6 now, so it could be completely different than the old ones. It'll be interesting to see what happens in future. It might also be that there's something about your region/country-based settings somewhere else in iOS. I don't really know how to explain this. But when I bought my iPad 3, I had something similar, only that there wasn't an option for changing the iTunes/App store into English.
Well, if there's any question about it, I'll try to translate it a bit further later. But I don't really know why that "option" exists, but doesn't work at all (for me).
For future reference, the issue isn't fixed. It was working correctly before I switched countries, and then after turning my country back on, it broke again. I just tried it and the screen is completely empty again. I tried using the iPhone 5s on it, and still the same. So maybe it's something related to the country I live in.
It didn't work either. Now I can't use either my iPad 2 or the iPhone 4S. The settings are not at all there. Also, when I turn them back on, they're back to where they were before.
I've tried to reboot the iPad, and even reset everything. That hasn't worked either.
Why is my Apple ID in Japanese?
I registered my iTunes ID (not account) into Japanese this morning. My Apple ID is now in Japanese, even though I didn't manually enter my Apple ID into the iTunes Store. This makes it impossible for me to add more than five of the same track to my library. Why? My other Apple ID's on iTunes are American.
So if iTunes doesn't do automatic ID matching or something like that, then how does it happen? And how can I prevent it? Apple does ID matching whenever you sign in to iTunes Store. It compares your ID with all iTunes ID you have. In particular, when you create new account, it matches existing IDs with them. ITunes Match will also do similar processing (matching). You may consider that as ID updating feature of iTunes. Of course, it is not exactly an error. Rather, it makes your original ID available for other applications.
I'm not sure exactly which ID is related to what program in iTunes, but there are certainly cases where ID may be replaced by another. For example, if I have multiple TV programs, I cannot add the same program from various sources (eg, Apple TV and AirPlay) to iTunes. That's because there is only one version, and all IDs should have the same IDs (eg, AppleTV). However, I can see different ID, such as Apple TV / iPad / iPhone4.
To confirm that Apple does ID match, you can check on Apple Support website or iTunes itself. If your ID is not matching, you may want to contact AppleCare.
ITunes doesn't require any action. It takes care of your ID and matches it with other iTunes IDs you have.
You might have multiple accounts for various services; for example, you have iCloud and Mail. ITunes Match will only match iCloud, and those who do not have iTunes Match account. In general, you can use any account for any ID. The only exception is if the provider doesn't allow changing account. For example, Microsoft doesn't allow changing account even when you need to move account from a Windows device to a Mac device. This is a very good way to protect security.
In your case, you don't need to worry about it. Your ID is the unique number used in iTunes Match, and it's not easy to find out anyway.
