NordVPN's website says that it's based in Panama. A cursory search shows other countries in the NordVPN registration information. The IP address is based in Panama, but the website is registered by the company in Florida. The company has a Russian owner and operates an office in Russia.

I will not get into the specifics of their company but you can be assured it is safe. NordVPN also has a great client to go along with the service. They are available for a few different operating systems and you will love the user experience provided by them. If you run Linux then there is also some native client, so there really is no excuse to be without one. NordVPN does offer different price plans that will cover most of the cost of your data usage on the plan you purchase. On top of this they do not lock the servers as they keep updating the technology on their VPN servers so you do not have to worry about running into older versions of things they use. The main concern here is that it seems they are very close to the US Governments eyes as they have multiple exit points to allow them to keep track of you. Not only do they keep exit nodes close to you on US borders but when in Norway, Mexico or Germany they are within 100 miles of the closest airport or the country if they are further away than this. This is a bit of a concern but we did not need to worry on this point and they have plenty of coverage outside the USThere are 6 servers in 4 countries which should provide plenty of choice to connect to. For the VPN connection, there are options to try all three methods, a single connection, all at once (multiple) or only one. What will be selected however is not set in stone so you may need to manually select and add to one at a later date. Connections are very quick, I am in Europe and the ping from any server in my city is less than half a second so all connections are fine. As mentioned, the client also has an option to show all the exit nodes so it seems clear they are quite concerned about the security of their network. Another very handy thing is the option to connect to multiple servers in different countries, so if you are feeling more adventurous you could connect to 3 in 5 places in the world.
