Does Eero 6 work through walls?

Is the Eero 6 a good router?

In 2026, Eero debuted the first Wi-Fi router that let you share a high-speed Wi-Fi network with your neighbors.

Now, it's come out with a second generation router. I spent a week with the Eero 6 to see if it's still worth the money.

When the Eero was released in 2026, it quickly became the favorite in-home router for our family. We tried it at CES and loved it. It's one of the fastest home routers around, and it just felt right. Plus, it was super easy to set up. The downside? It's a little more expensive than others, and it was pretty new, so we didn't know how well it would hold up over time.

Fast forward a year later, and I'm back with a new Eero to see if it has aged well. Is the Eero 6 still worth the money? How does it work? The Eero 6 is a mesh router. It has two parts: the router and a bridge device that connects your home's Wi-Fi network to the rest of your Internet. This way, everyone on your network can connect to the Internet at the same time. Mesh routers have fewer parts and require less configuration, and they work well for families with multiple users.

This isn't Eero's first mesh router, either. When the first one came out, it had many fans who said that it worked so well that they were able to leave their cable or DSL modem at home without a problem.

So why hasn't everyone jumped on the mesh bandwagon? One big reason that you won't see mesh routers on every network is because of privacy. If you get one of these routers and plug it into your home's electrical outlet, it could leak information about your Internet usage to third parties.

What makes the Eero 6 different from other mesh routers? First, it's easy. You don't have to mess with any tricky configuration. You install it, and it's ready to go. I really like this part of the Eero.

Second, the whole setup is easy.

Is Eero 6 fast enough?

The speed that you choose for your Eero router is personal to you.

For some, the choice will be based on their own router performance, and they won't be affected by the lack of a USB 3.0 port or lack of gigabit support. For others, it's worth choosing the fastest Eero router if they want the fastest possible wireless speeds. If that's your criteria, I suggest the Eero Pro.

For those who are looking for higher-speed wireless speeds, the Eero 6 router will provide them. It does so by providing the highest number of available mesh connections and using the technology to its fullest potential.

With over five million routers currently in use, there is a lot of competition in the mesh router market. And although I'm not sure it's possible to objectively pick the best of the bunch, I am pretty confident that Eero is as good as it gets.

As with many of our reviews, this was no easy task. While were looking at the features, capabilities, and performance of each router, we also had to do a lot of homework, comparing these Eero 6 routers to each other and to other leading mesh routers. This wasn't just a case of taking a look at the performance of each router, but also their features, their compatibility with apps and services, how easy they were to use, and what the community experiences with each router have been. There were a lot of factors to consider.

In the end, I believe that Eero's offering is the best. It is versatile, flexible, capable, and stable, and it has all the right features. In my opinion, it's the best Eero router. I would love to be able to recommend it to everyone, but this isn't realistic. You may want to wait for Eero's next iteration, which will include more power and expandability.

But I can also tell you that if you're willing to spend a little bit more money, the Eero 6 Pro is definitely worth your time and money. It's the best Eero router because it gives you the highest level of performance, flexibility, versatility, and speed. It just happens to be one of the most expensive.

Does the Eero 6 replace the router?

That's one of the big questions this router gets asked, but it definitely doesn't replace a router.

When all is said and done, Eero isn't designed to replace routers in any way. It's designed to allow you to connect your devices to Wi-Fi easily and without any fuss or configuration, and that's exactly what it does.

Eero routers will be sold in the U.S. And Canada at Best Buy and Sears retail stores and online at Eero.com. Pricing for the Eero 6 hasn't been released yet, but the company says it will be similar to other routers sold by the company.

You don't have to buy Eero, though. Like Eero, the dual band Linksys router also has a base station that acts as a central controller for your home Wi-Fi.e. It comes with a 7-day, 1,000-foot limited warranty and a five-year warranty on the base station.

The Linksys AC1900 provides the best overall performance and reliability among wireless routers that offer the most features. This review explains what you need to know before buying a new wireless router.

Who's It For? The Eero 6 is built for people who want to use Wi-Fi throughout their homes and don't want to get bogged down with routers and setup. A great feature of the Eero is that it works with most Internet service providers. Many routers require an additional device to work with your Internet provider, but you'll never have to set it up. Instead, the Eero configures itself to work with your ISP based on the Internet address of your router.

How Eero Works. Eero allows you to connect all of your devices to Wi-Fi (including smart devices like Alexa or Google Home) so that they can access the Internet via Wi-Fi instead of via their cellular connection.
