How to use Hotspot Shield VPN for free?

Can you get a VPN on a hotspot?

I've had some trouble getting a VPN on my hotspot.

The most popular suggestions are to use OpenVPN, which I installed and configured on the hotspot, but then the problem is that you need a router with routing capabilities, which I don't have (the Hotspot is connected through a router). So I went with the suggestion of buying a VPN for my hotspot, but when I did, the only options they had was to connect to Google. While I know Google has their own VPN services, that's not what I want.

So I decided to go with a free service called Tor-Over, that supposedly does just that. Here is what it looks like on my router: and here is a picture of it on my laptop: They say the idea is to Create a network layer for encrypted traffic over Tor so your IP address is hidden from the web as you browse or use other apps, not just on Tor itself. Here's what happens when I try to access websites that aren't supposed to be accessible from a local IP (ie ). Here's a video of the setup of the VPN, it's pretty easy once you have it on your router: Does it work? The first website I tried accessing was Wikipedia, which worked without any problems. To try accessing the Tor project website however, I can't seem to be able to get it to work. It actually says I'm on the real internet when I am on Tor-over and on Tor, which seems contradictory to me. I then tried to download an mp3 file which actually downloaded, but didn't work. But as far as I can tell I am not sending any traffic that would allow any kind of interception.

Is this legit? The site offers a free version that should provide all the security you need, but if it's really not working or is it just that I am missing something I'm interested in knowing how you think about it If it's a wifi hotspot and if the router itself is setup for openvpn, it shouldn't matter which vpn service you use, that's if it's supported.
