How do I add PPTP VPN to my Samsung?

When I boot up my computer, I see a notification saying that I have an update.

It is in the form of "Samsung Network Settings" but I'm not sure what it is or how to update it. Does anyone know how to do this?

There are three ways to do this. I'm not going to try them all in order because the first two are much easier than the third one. So, try them in this order:

Method 1: Install network software from Samsung website. Method 2: Run command-line software from Samsung website. Method 3: Run custom software from Samsung website. Let's start with the first one. If you don't want to install any new software on your computer, you can go to your Samsung website, choose the firmware upgrade option, and then click on the "Download Firmware Upgrade File" link. You'll get a download prompt, but you can stop it by clicking on the "Cancel" link or by using your browser's "Stop" button. When you download the file, you'll need to double-click on it to open it in Windows Explorer. If you're using another type of operating system, then you'll need to find the download file in your operating system's file manager. Once the file is open, you'll need to drag it to the "Installation folder" (Windows XP and earlier) or the "Program Files" folder (Windows Vista and later). You'll get a prompt to run the installer, so click on "Yes" or "Run."

Once you've installed the software, you'll need to restart your computer. After you're back up and running, you should have an "Advanced Network Settings" option under the main menu item in the "Samsung Network Settings" drop-down menu. The "PPTP" setting should be at the top of the list, so select it and then click on the "Save Settings" button. You'll now need to wait for your computer to reboot and you'll have a PPTP VPN connection.

If you don't like the look of the Samsung Network Settings application, then you can get a different look by using the "Samsung Network Settings Configuration Tool." This will give you a choice of different skin styles, as well as the ability to add other settings that you can get from other Samsung products.

What is a PPTP client?

A PPTP client is software that works as the server on a PPTP connection, providing data and authentication service to another entity.

The name comes from "PPP over IP Tunneling Protocol", an earlier version of which is PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet), which was later used to create PPTP.

PPTP is often bundled with other services to provide data security and encryption for data, or it can be provided as a standalone service. Why use PPTP? PPTP allows for fast VPN connections by allowing a server to exchange authentication messages with the client using the MPPE security protocol (which is similar to GRE) to encrypt and authenticate all data transmitted between the client and the server. This makes PPTP far more secure than any standard VPN system.

PPTP also provides compression, sending only the minimum amount of data required for a particular network transaction. In addition, this form of compression is not dependent on the type of data being sent. This means that even if it is very small, it will still be compressed.

It is also easier to configure because, with PPTP, one does not need to have the right server running; only the client is needed. What does a PPTP client do? In a standard PPTP setup, you are the PPTP client, and you connect to the server. As your PPTP client, you will receive an IP address and a username/password to use.

These are stored in a file on your computer's hard drive. When you log into the system, the server will read the file and authenticate you. If it is successful, you will receive access to the services the server provides.

PPTP uses a Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPP) tunnel between your computer and the server. Therefore, once you log in, your computer starts using the PPTP client protocol to access the remote computer. This protocol requires that both the client and the server have certain authentication information about each other.

After authentication, your computer requests a list of shared network resources (shared resources include, for example, files, printers, and Internet servers). The client then negotiates a connection between the two machines. Once the connection is made, the client software will use the server's information to gain access to the network.

How to connect PPTP in android?

I have checked that this post is very old so may be not good solution. Use a standard PPTP configuration: You need a standard PPTP Network, with the settings as in your PC. Then the client is the phone you have on your arm.

Install an application called Network Tools for Android. For this use a PPTP vpn. Go to VPN tab. Select Type. PSK RSA 512. Use the same username and password you have on your computer. And choose the network you have on your mobile phone. In the other pane select Settings>More Options>PPTP. Click Ok. It will ask for authentication (use same account on both clients) then, it will give a success message saying that VPN connection has been established. Now from any PC you can use browser on your mobile phone like you are in LAN.
