Why does it say I have an anonymous proxy?

How do I turn off anonymous proxy on Iphone?

I'm using a private proxy at work and I set it in the Proxy preferences and everything was fine until I got an Iphone and the default proxies weren't enough for downloading large amounts of data. So I set up a new proxy but I forgot to turn it off before I put my phone on airplane mode. When I removed the airplane mode, the connection was very fast, it worked in a way that I wanted. It wasn't any faster than the usual proxy settings but it worked. Then I read in some forums that there's some setting in the wifi settings where you can turn off the anonymous proxy. So I turned it off and now when I try to connect it fails to connect, and there's a red warning saying "the proxy server did not respond" or something. I can connect to WiFi and I've turned off the firewall as well. How do I turn off the anonymous proxy for my iPhone? And I've done this before on my computer, I'm not sure why it's acting differently on my phone. Thanks in advance.

You have to use the wireless connection and if you're in a public wi-fi spot, then that's what you should be using. There is no option to turn off the proxy servers in the normal proxy list, if that's what you're thinking. If you're having issues connecting to your office wi-fi, try connecting to a different, open access point.

The phone has been on Wi-Fi for a while now so it shouldn't have time to find a new one. It's probably something else. Try turning it off then turn it on again. Also make sure you're not using the proxy through iTunes. Also make sure your firewall isn't turned on. You could always try restarting the phone and see if that helps.

Thanks guys. One of my friends told me about something called the Bonjour service, I'm assuming that's what it's for. Could that be causing the problem? Is it easy to turn it off/on? Thanks again.

What I do is disconnect from wi-fi and try going to network settings (the icon looks like an airplane). Tap General, then tap Wi-Fi.e. Turn off the Wi-Fi for Bonjour. When you turn it back on, the network should reconnect.
