Is Octoparse reliable?

The Octoparse bot is a very powerful tool, but I've heard that it can be unreliable.

Has anyone here tried it? I'm thinking of writing a bot that crawls all the top 100s sites for news, and trying to use the data from the top 100 news sites to make a prediction of what topics are trending at the moment.

I tried it out, I think it's pretty good. The problem is it does not understand English, so it misses some big stories, but if you tell it to find a story with a certain keyword it will go and find that story for you.

We used to have an old version of this bot for the forums, and it did a great job of ranking pages. Now that we use the Google search engine, we don't need that feature. We've tried using the keywords tool but haven't found it as good.

The bot is fine, but it could probably do better. I'm pretty sure it can find out if a page is deleted, but it doesn't tell you why it's deleted, just that it's gone. I think the bot could do better in finding out the cause of the delete.

I use the bot and I have no complaints, though I don't use it as my primary search engine. I was reading the FAQ's and it says that they don't support "newspapers" as far as the bot goes, which includes all major papers in the United States. I've tried adding several newspapers to the bot and it still doesn't work. What's strange is that the news sites aren't even listed in the FAThe bot is fine, but it could probably do better.
