I am currently receiving a 'Sorry, you are not authorized to view this part of this page' error on every website I attempt to access. I have been told that it is likely due to me attempting to access something via a different proxy than I use most often, but I can't find anything wrong with any of the settings on my internet connection. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this, or how to fix it?

(Note that I am using Firefox, and in case there's a Firefox-specific answer, it's not that I'm accessing websites from the Opera proxy, I'm using the Opera proxy as a method of trying to access websites that I can't get to if I use my computer's built-in proxy.) I'm having an issue where I can't open my Opera web browser. When I click on the Opera icon it starts loading, but then nothing. My computer has nothing wrong with it. If I press CTRL-C I can force it to close. Any ideas?

It could be that the problem is not so much the proxy per se, but that you are trying to reach certain sites from that proxy and they do not want to let you. If they decide to shut you down for that reason, they don't need to tell you.

The best way to see what site you are trying to access is to run the site in question in a new tab or window - if you can do that, then it should indicate what's wrong. If not, then you are either trying to access the wrong site (in which case the site you think you are trying to access may be blocking access to your proxy) or the site is blocking you because you are accessing the site from a proxy they don't like - check the logs on the site to see what address was requested from (eg ) C.
