Is there a release date for the PS5 Slim?

I got to the conclusion that the PS5 will . I got to the conclusion that the PS5 will be released in 2026 or 2026. The slim version will have a hard drive, but no USB ports (they may use wireless controllers instead). The difference will be 8GB RAM vs 12GB. The graphics are "only" a 60fps gaming option, while 1080p is mandatory. There will be an HDR capable panel.

There's a lot of things to figure out. As you know the Xbox is going through a major update and probably Sony will upgrade the PS4 as well. So, the PS5 could be launched when the Xbox is in its new version.

Or it could be later than that because they want to catch up on the PC gaming crowd. In any case, we will be upgrading our PC games if this is the case.

I hope for a slim version of the PS5, but only if they're gonna use wireless controllers like on the PSVR. I don't like the idea of using a hard drive either.

I have to say the PS4 Pro looks pretty sweet for a console that will likely be 3-5 years old by the time the PS5 is released. I do hope they go with the Xbox approach of making it easier for gamers to upgrade/switch the system as their game library expands.

Either way, I don't think we will see a PS5 unless Sony has a big new game coming out in 2020-21. The same thing happened with the PS4 Pro. The Xbox One X was released first, and the PS4 Pro was released months later.

We should have seen something by now though. Sony just finished their financial year and there has been no word.

Will PS5 Slim be faster than PS5?

With the PS5 announced yesterday, Sony is teasing us with the possibility that the new console may have better graphics than its current console.

The PS4 has had great success with its 1080p resolution, which is a big jump from the 720p of the PS3. Now the new system is going to be able to push even further, according to the latest rumors, and the hardware specs that Sony has published on its website, it's no surprise that this is the case. The last time we saw such rumors was with the Xbox One. Microsoft also revealed that its new console would be more powerful than the Xbox One, and in that time period, it was possible for the rumor mill to be correct. As we move forward, Sony has said that the PS5 will offer better graphics than the PS4, and it will be interesting to see what kind of details they offer on the new system.

Let's look at the PlayStation 5 specs first. In the past, it was reported that the PS5 would feature two AMD Zen 2 CPUs. These would be paired up with 8GB of DDR4 memory. The graphics card was said to be custom designed with a massive 12 teraflops of processing power, and a GPU made up of 64 GB of VRAM. These specs would make the PS5 more powerful than the PS4, but according to the latest rumors, it looks like the specs have been changed. This time, it was said that the PS5 will have two custom AMD chips, with one AMD CPU and a custom GPU.

It's worth noting that the AMD Ryzen 7 chip that the PS5 will use isn't quite as powerful as the PS4's Ryzen 7 chip. In fact, the PlayStation 5 AMD chips are said to be in the low-end of the Ryzen 7 range. It's not certain how much more powerful the PS5 GPU will be, but one thing is for sure: the PS5 will feature a better GPU than the PS4.

Another change we've seen is the power used by the console. Sony says that the PS5 will use an E-Marketer of 40 watts, which is a huge leap from the current PS4's power consumption of 25 watts.
