Why is my Google not letting me search?

Why is my Facebook not letting me comment?

What is going on?

Why is my Twitter not letting me tweet? ? The answer: All of this is happening because we are about to go to war. For those of us who live in the US, our government is about to take us into a conflict in which millions of our fellow citizens are about to die. In which the death toll will rise and fall with every missile, drone and smart bomb launched at a terrorist. In which each casualty will be a parent, a child, a husband, a wife, a brother, a sister, a mother, a father, a child. In which the bodies of our brothers and sisters will pile up in the streets of the cities of Iraq and Syria. And in which the lives of our children will be snuffed out forever before their own eyes.

In which American soldiers will walk again among the dead bodies of their brothers and sisters. And then they will go back to their homes and families. And then they will return to their jobs. And then they will return to their schools. And then they will return to their lives. And so it will go on and on until one day they look around and see that it has been going on for twenty-eight years.

To some of them, the war will feel like an unpleasant, but temporary inconvenience. To others it will be a terrifying, agonizing experience. To most, it will be a normal part of their lives. The way wars used to be for their parents, their grandparents and their great-grandparents.

I have friends in the military and they have told me that the first time they were really scared of something was when their plane was hit by an RPG (rocket propelled grenade) and they had to eject over the top of Baghdad. I have friends who were shot in Iraq and Afghanistan. They had to be airlifted out of a field hospital with their wounds, and then they had to wait for months for the war to end. One of my oldest friends was shot during the war in Afghanistan. After he was evacuated out of the country, he had to remain in Afghanistan while the war raged on. It was a nightmare for him.

And I have friends who have lost their sons and daughters in Iraq and Afghanistan.
