Why does my proxy server keep asking for username and password?

I have a proxy server that I use to access the web.

It has been running perfectly, but suddenly (I think) I am unable to access it through the browser. I have tried the following:

I made a new username and password for it. I have tried adding the proxy server settings from the browser on my other computer to my router. I have tried resetting it to factory settings. I have tried using the same username and password on a different machine with the same results. I have deleted cookies. I have updated the .NET Framework on all machines.

In addition, the firewall on the proxy server is off, and it used to work fine. I don't know if the problem is related to the firewall, or the router. I'm just wondering what else I can try.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. The problem was that a user one of the systems had a broken password. Once the system was set to automatically update the password, the proxy server started working again.

I'm pretty sure I read that in the FAQ's but I didn't get a chance to look for that answer. I had problems like this before and it ended up being because I was using the wrong port for the server. This time it isn't letting me in with the normal login (my logins are always 'surfshark', 'surfsky' and 'felisr').

I have never heard of any other software doing this. What is the "normal login" then? If you want to use it, it is very easy to get logged in: 1) Log in to Surfshark. 2) From the main menu choose Options (the green gear icon in the lower right corner). 3) Under the tab Options, there is a password box. 4) You should see 'surfshark' there, so type that into the box.
