Where can I get the NordVPN configuration file?
What kind of servers do you recommend?
Do they have to be physical servers or can they be virtual servers? What kind of bandwidth throttling would you recommend? Thanks for the help. This forum is currently hosted on a dedicated server operated by a member of our team, and his servers are also behind a NordVPN network. I would not recommend using any virtual servers or virtual dedicated servers from third-party providers for security reasons. It is too easy to compromise a third-party server.
The server is running 3 different VPN services, and the connection to the internet is routed via the NordVPN network through their servers. All the NordVPN devices are configured on all three devices to use the VPN tunnels provided by the company. I'm using it for my primary device, and my second device uses the VPN as well for accessing online services. If you would like to know more about how we do it, I can provide additional details.
We definitely recommend NordVPN for your needs and would give it 5 stars if we could. But we'll have to deduct half a star because of some things we did not approve.
I believe that there was a recent issue with the SSL encryption certificates on the NordVPN website (probably when moving into Amazon's datacenter). The problem was fixed but the issue has left us feeling a little unsure about it.
There is also the fact that NordVPN have moved their DNS into a third-party provider (I believe called Route 66). There are some sites still using NordVPN's DNS and for these sites we can configure NordVPN's DNS servers but the NordVPN application won't allow you to change your DNS settings. This makes it hard to switch to a new VPN at a later stage (you will have to delete all previous VPN tunnels/applications before you're done).
We use NordVPN on both mobile devices (the app supports iOS and Android) and laptops (a Windows laptop). We've run into several issues and the best solution is to just stop using the NordVPN application, connect to your VPN, and then reopen the app to continue where you were before. This should be the easiest solution.
We used it for 4 years. We found problems with NordVPN on Macs for iOS. Their documentation was poor and the people that ran support were often not helpful.
How do I import OVPN files into NordVPN?
Step by step instructions for importing OVPN files into NordVPN.
For those of you who have already set up your NordVPN connection using the OpenVPN files, we would like to share how you can import these files into NordVPN. This way you don't have to start from scratch again.
It is very important that you understand the process and do it right before you start to import. If you make a mistake or miss something, your connection will be lost and you will have to start over from the beginning.
We recommend you to make a backup of your current connection before you start the process. This way, you have a copy of your current settings and can always fall back to this if something goes wrong.
If you have any questions during the process, feel free to contact our support team and they will be happy to assist you. What do you need? You will need two things: NordVPN .ovpn file and your NordVPN credentials. Your NordVPN Account .conf file.
The process for importing an OVPN connection is pretty straight forward. We have provided you with step by step instructions for every step you need to take.
But, here are some quick tips for getting you started: Make sure that you are logged in to your NordVPN account. To make it easier, it is recommended that you use the NordVPN app and use the mobile version of the VPN. It makes it easier to navigate through the process and gives you the chance to make mistakes.
Step 1: Download the NordVPN app. Download the NordVPN app from the Google Play store and install it on your mobile device. The app is available on all major platforms (Android, iPhone, iPad). After you have installed the NordVPN app, open it and go to the settings. Go to the app settings and change the Connection Mode to Server Mode. Step 2: Open the OVPN file. If you have downloaded the OVPN file, you should be able to open it in the file manager. Open the file and you should be able to see the content of the file.
What does NordVPN would like to add VPN configurations mean?
We are all for security!
This product takes encryption for encryption and has the highest security for their consumer service. They're taking a "zero tolerance" policy as far as any third party software, browser extension or other device that connects to their servers and/or your system will use. They don't want any potential breach of your system.
What's all these different countries I see? NordVPN isn't trying to make a point of becoming an International VPN provider. They do provide all the best VPN servers in a lot of regions around the world but they only offer their services in the markets where they are legal (some of them).
