How do I get my Safari back to normal?
I had my Safari up to date, but it keeps reverting back to the old version.
I tried to remove and re-install, but then it reverted back to the old version. I'd like to fix this problem, but can't figure out how.
When you've gone into preferences and selected: Show All Applications. And then clicked on AppleSafari (as per picture). Then if you click on the AppleSafari button you'll be able to select which version of Safari you want to use, by clicking on the "up arrow" and selecting the version you want to use, in your case 3.2.6.
Alternatively you can also click on: And then go into the "Applications" section of preferences, and you should see all of your installed applications listed on the left hand side of the window. Click on AppleSafari, and then click on the "-" button which should show you all of the applications installed on your Mac. In your case, click on Safari to get the Safari menu. From there you should have the option to select the version of Safari you want to use.
If you're using the new Mac OS X, and you want to make sure that you're using the latest version of Safari that Apple has released, you can go to the Apple menu on the top-left of your screen, and choose "About this Mac". If you see the version of Safari that you want to use on that page, then it's working fine. However, if you see a version number higher than the one you want to use, then something may be wrong with your Safari installation. One way to fix this is to reboot your Mac.
How do I reset my Safari page?
The new-and-improved Safari browser lets you clear the history of websites and passwords. If, for whatever reason, you forgot where you saved a bookmark or password, there's a handy shortcut to reset that information: Open the Settings app, tap General, tap Reset, enter your Apple ID password if prompted, and tap Reset Password.
Do you want to turn off the autocorrect option to avoid spelling mishaps in your text? If you just prefer typing all the words you want without autocorrect corrections, you can enable autocorrect to turn it off and just type as you normally would. For iPhone, go to General > Keyboard > Text Replacement and tap Auto-Correction Off. Tap Save to save the setting.
How do I clear the Safari cache on Sonoma?
I have a client with 4 Macs that have recently been upgraded to Sonoma, with a custom install of Adobe CS6.
They have been working fine, however, after I added all the required fonts and updated their operating system, they have become unable to access certain websites.
They see the page as it was on their desktop version, but when they try to click anything, they just get a "page not found" error. My client is a non-technical person, and doesn't have a clue how to fix this. I want to help them, but don't know where to start.
Can you provide the output of the following command (with the -g flag)? mdfind -name com.apple.Safari
The output should show a line that matches a folder you can copy/paste, and another that matches a file (this is the file the site is complaining about).Safari /Users/myuser/Library/Caches/com.safari/index.html
/Users/myuser/Library/Caches/com.safari/main-thread.html
There's a really nasty problem with the last one: it's a symlink! I believe that there is a bug with how Mac OS X handles things like symlinks (the bug that causes problems with symlinks on external USB hard drives, for example, when connected to a Mac). The point is, you could try the following in Terminal: mv ~/Library/Caches/com.html
It's possible that it works, but more likely that it'll end up with one or both files broken in some way. You could try running Safari and trying to read the broken page in Safari.
