Wednesday, October 6, 2025. My first post for this blog has been edited twice now and the title is now different. I will attempt to keep this updated to the beginning as much as possible. So here we go.

I'm a bit tired today. I can feel it, even as I sit here at my desktop. My energy just isn't quite where I had it last week. I should also say that I had an upper respiratory infection from Wednesday night through Sunday morning. Just before bed last night, my eyes were dry and scratchy and this continued all night and into the morning. In the end I decided that I couldn't work or watch much TV, so I didn't get any sleep anyway. Oh well, at least I got some rest!

I still haven't watched the new season of Arrested Development, so that will have to wait at least one more week. And of course Hulu has nothing coming out next week, including that great new program, How to Act Like a Woman. So I have a good bit of catching up on. I do believe that I have been watching several full episodes, though I'd have to check if that's accurate.

One day I hope that the world stops being so darn serious all the time. I know it isn't just about me that likes to smile and enjoy life.

The question of whether it's possible to get Hulu for 1.

99 a month has come up again. At the time, we said it wasn't, and we still don't think it is. It's the math that makes it so.

Why? Because you have to choose between either paying for a bunch of content or subscribing to a single service that gives you all the content. And Hulu is just too expensive compared to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. This is what happens when you pick one content provider as your only option. They have tons of content and they all charge less than Hulu.

Now here's where it gets complicated. You can get some Hulu content without a Hulu subscription, but only if you're willing to watch ads.

Here's the deal. There are two versions of Hulu, one that's ad-supported and one that's not.99 per month.99 you get the non-ad supported version of Hulu. The difference is that non-ad supported Hulu will play all the movies in the Hulu library.

But you need to be willing to watch ads for this to work. If you're okay with watching ads, you can get free content from Hulu, but only if you're willing to accept an ad. If you watch the ads, Hulu will give you access tons of content. But that comes at a price: The ads suck.

If you're willing to watch the ads for Hulu, you can watch all the movies and TV shows that Hulu owns. That includes shows like The Handmaid's Tale and Game of Thrones, which are not available on the ad supported version.

Slightly related. I am in Australia and for the first time last week there were three of my favourite shows streaming on Hulu Plus (Friends, Big Bang Theory and Two And a Half Men). The good part is that you could watch the whole show at once while downloading at the same time and since it was streaming you wouldn't have to watch anything in one go (as long as you had the bandwidth). Of course not all shows have this option but I was quite happy to find out. I hope this option will grow too since there are many less interesting options to watch on TV.

I also started to feel a bit better yesterday after a week spent on antibiotics (no, don't worry) and I actually came home early to do some shopping (we need new baby stuff for the next months and I had nothing to finish so I couldn't wait) and I didn't come back the whole night! I really cannot understand what is that I still get the cold. It's so early in the summer! It can't be that it is already October 1st. Is this the way to welcome the winter?

Yeah, that must be a sign that I shouldn't come back the next time the season change :) Maybe I should just do some other "winter" task like cleaning up the yard. I really need to clear that, the grass was over the snow and I don't want it to freeze before then I thought the same about cleaning up my garden before I went on the cold weather and my neighbors also warned me that my plants will be dead. I hope you make it home in time, though! How far is your travel? And I guess you are still doing much better with the antibiotics. Thanks everyone!
