Why can I only share my location for 1 day on Google Maps?

What is the maximum time for Google location sharing?

For example, If I set the location sharing interval to every 30 minutes then the Google location data will be updated and shared with my Google account.

How much time it will take if the device uses cellular or wi-fi? As the device will be on all the time and constantly update locations? Any idea about this? According to Google's own documentation, the Location service uses a low-energy mechanism, called Background Fetch, to collect and upload anonymous location data. Background location is used when you're not running any other apps or are connected to Wi-Fi but running low on battery power.

That said, your battery will drain more quickly as the device updates frequently, and if you choose to go above 30 minutes for the interval, Android will warn you if you're about to run out of battery life. To keep battery usage to a minimum, you should keep the location setting in the Google app to Off, which will save a lot of power. Finally, here's how I tested this using my Droid X: I started monitoring the location data at 1 minute intervals and noticed the phone was using about 2.5W (~1.4mAh) after one hour, then 3W (~1.9mAh) after two hours, then 4.5W (~2.6mAh) after three hours.

Can I share my Google location for more than 24 hours?

I am having a hard time determining the correct permissions to share my location with a web server.

First, I don't want to share my location with anyone, and I want the information shared to be temporary. Second, I want to share my location with one web server, but not with others. I have read through many of the posts on this site regarding sharing of location, but I still can't get it to work. I have tried: Permissions: "Full Network access". Client ID: 0. Client Secret: 0. Project ID: 0. User ID: 0. Location: public. Name: My Server Name. Host: I have also tried: Location: private. Both of those options were rejected. I also tried: The problem is that I keep getting "Request denied: invalidgrant". Can someone please help me determine the correct permissions to allow me to share my location with a web server? You should be able to get away with the settings above. The client ID and client secret are for the Google location API. There is no need for them for the "My Location" feature. So, I would assume that if the Google location API is not working then the "My Location" feature will not work either.

You will need to contact the Google support team to request the correct permissions to share your location. There's a possibility that the location information from your device is being sent to Google servers and a machine learning model is being built up with this information. You should be able to turn off this information by disabling your location service.

How do I extend location sharing time on Google Maps?

I need to extend the location sharing time on Google Maps from 5 minutes to one hour.

I did not find a way to do this. How can I do it?

From the documentation it states: You cannot make an app or add-on visible to users or prevent them from. sharing their location data on a particular day or at a particular time. period. The time is set by the user when they share their location on the app/add-on. It is up to you to control when that occurs.

Why can I only share my location for 1 day on Google Maps?

I want to share my location.

I've used Google Maps before to share my location when I needed it in the past, but it seems like I can only share for a day! What happened? On the My Location page for Google Maps, you'll see the option to Share your location. When you click on this, it will bring you to a page where you can allow Google Maps to share your location for the next day, or the next week, or any time period that you choose.

There's one small issue though - if you don't do it on the day you need the sharing (or any day, actually), it won't appear on the sharing site at all. It also won't appear in the My Location page at all. This happens even if you've previously granted it access to your location before. So, why?

The short answer is that there are limitations on how often a user can see a given set of your location information through a Web API. They vary by country, and I'm not certain about what exactly governs them. But it's clear that they do, because the ability to share your location doesn't appear until you've given at least some access to the web service.

It's entirely possible that it's not a bug, but a feature intended for security. That makes a lot of sense, because we don't want the web service to keep people tracking our movements for a very long period of time. So, you may want to just choose one day and use it.

However, if you really want to look into this further, you can visit this web page which details the API limitations. To be clear, this is not related to any bugs in Google Maps, but it may be related to the API issues.
