How do I disable Chrome extensions on Android?
I need to disable chrome extensions on my Android phone (Nexus 5X) and can't find a way. I've tried searching the web for answers and nothing has worked. For example, I've tried the following:
Chrome://extensions/. Settings > Apps > Chrome App > All Apps. I can't even find where to turn them on or off. You should be able to do that by using chrome://settings in the app drawer. You should be able to navigate to there by pressing the menu button on the phone or using the hardware back button.
Does BlockSite work on Android?
Answer from @block-site
The question is answered by @block-site.
Read the answer or the original question. The original question can be seen in revision 3
@block-site: It is not currently possible to run BlockSite on Android phones/tablets. I have a phone with BlockSite running on Android, and it seems to work fine, but it's limited to my house network only. If someone has an Android device to spare and is willing to help, they are more than welcome to submit an email to me and have a go at porting the app! (If there's interest!) @block-site
A year ago, you explained that there are now 2 versions of the BlockSite app for Linux mobile devices. One for GNU/Linux mobile, and the other for iOS mobile. Today, we hear that @block-site is working on porting BlockSite to Android. How did this happen? What's being used on Android now? @mattmoor
@mattmoor: Currently, BlockSite is not working on Android. I don't have any information about what will be implemented in the future. It is a difficult question to answer without full access to the code, as the Android apps are written in Java, while the native version of BlockSite for iOS is written in Swift. If I'm to give my opinion, it's that it probably would take a lot of time to convert the code over. @block-site
If he's correct then how was this new version of BlockSite built? I tried following instruction from one of your tutorial for iOS. But when I try to test my application I got a message like this.
How to block adult websites on Chrome mobile?
I would like to block adult websites on my Chrome mobile on my own rooted Nexus S.
I don't want to use VPN because I'm in the middle of nowhere. But is there a way to block all adult sites with mobile devices? (I don't have any other mobile device.)
Thanks for helping. The best way to block any site is using a Content Blocker. The apps you're looking for are available for your phone, but since they are only Android based, you'll need to build them from source. You can find the Android SDK and a link to the instructions here.
Once you've installed the SDK, you can use that to download the app and install it.
