Tap the "Proxy" button to add a proxy server to your list of options.

3) If you don't have an iPhone or an iPod Touch, you'll need to download the free Proxy Switchy. You can install it by tapping "Get" in the top right of the screen, then tapping "Free".

Once you've installed Proxy Switchy, you'll be able to change the proxy settings as before. This works best if you don't connect to the wireless network at home or work. My question is, for the WebBrowser control? Is it really required to do so? The WebBrowser control has the option of using a proxy server. This is the recommended method.

Another option is to make the web request on behalf of the user and then check the "Refresh" property on the WebBrowser control. This will cause the browser to re-request the page.

If you use this method, you should be able to tell if the page has changed.

You should not have a proxy in place on your iPhone. The use of a proxy server allows you to bypass blocks in certain countries like China by using DNS. On a mobile network, the DNS requests are routed through Apple's own DNS servers, and are much less likely to experience any blocks. If you have an iPhone in a location where there may be DNS blocks, this will allow you to overcome those blocks by avoiding using the Apple's DNS servers.
