I tried Exploding Kittens for the first time on my iPad Mini last night. I'm a big fan of games like Cards Against Humanity and Cards Against Humanity: The Board Game, so I thought I'd give this new game a try.

The quick story behind Exploding Kittens is that a bunch of cats are trapped in an exploding bottle with explosive materials. You have to find ways to get them out.

The game takes place in a cute cartoonish art style. There are cats, but they look like they should be more realistic than the art style. The art is good, it really looks like a card game.

In each round, there are four cards for you to draw from. Each card has a question about cats, which you need to figure out how to answer. You can answer in one of two ways:

Answer honestly. You're going to explain what's going on, even if you don't know how to play the card.

You're going to fake answer. You're going to make up a story that helps you answer the question.

You draw your hand of cards, and each card has a number of points. If you tell an honest answer, you get 100 points. If you make up answer, you can get 400 points. And if you don't tell answer, you get 0 points. You go around the table, giving your points to the person who draws the next card.

When I played, the first question was to describe the different parts of a kitty's body. When I got my hand of cards, I started with telling the truth. I guessed it would be easy. Then, I said something like, That might have something to do with a kitty having paws. That's a guess.

I got the points that I deserved. Then, the second question was What do kittens do? When I drew the card, I thought of a story that fit the question. I knew it wouldn't be very good, but it did the trick. I got 200 points.
