None of them actually worked for me. So I am posting this question again after a lot of googling and testing. I finally found a way to get my proxies working! Now, please excuse my ignorance with the technical details here and just follow my steps below:

STEP 1: GOOGLE THIS THING! (If you have Google Chrome or Internet Explorer on your desktop you can test out this link ). This is how to do it. Now let's figure out how to do this every time we want to do this.

STEP 2: CONFIGURE FIREFOX ON YOUR ANDROID. To get the proxy to work you need to first make sure that Firefox has its own settings in the browser. Go to "File -> import " in Firefox and locate the 'Mozilla profile' file which should be located in the data folder.

Backup your profile first (it should not hurt but the restore step will overwrite everything on the phone.I suggest making a backup of your important stuff first) and then delete the profile on your Android, since you will be overwriting it anyway and then save a new default profile. You will now have a blank profile which is not backed up so be sure to back that up first. That way you will never lose important data.especially passwords, etc.

Now go to: Menu -> Tools -> Options and scroll down to the Networking tab. On the bottom right under Connection Information click the Config button, this brings up an IP information window. Now set the 'use a proxy server' field from 'proxy auto detect' to either 'manual proxy setting' or 'no proxy'. If you have already set up a proxy before like with when you go to your Firefox settings you need to reset the setting to 'no proxy' now.

That should be all.save, reboot and check your mobile browser.

I use a proxy server on my network but I want to set up an app so I can use that proxy on Android.

I can already access the internet through my router, what I want is a way to specify a different proxy address when I am connected through my router. I can't seem to find any apps that will allow me to specify the proxy server that I use on my network.

I am running on a Sprint Galaxy S2 and rooting it with KingRoot. It's not possible to set a proxy for Android apps. They have to be written in such a way that they can request internet resources without the proxy settings in place. If you don't control the source code for these apps, it is not possible to set the proxy.
