Why are my links not opening on my Android phone?

Why are my links not opening on my Android phone?

I've got a website that's got some links, mainly external, that aren't opening.

I've had it set up before and it used to work but all of the sudden in the last month or two, they are no longer opening? They open on my desktop (WIndows) and laptop but not on my phone (Android). I'd just like to have it go to the desktop when I click the link - that's pretty much it. There isn't really any information about this on the net, and to be honest, it's probably something simple I'm overlooking.

This happened with one of our sites a couple of weeks ago, our domain registrar changed IPs which caused this error, but we worked with them and the fix was simple, and if this is the same problem I am having could you please let me know what the fix is. I'm sorry if this is answered elsewhere - please do direct me to the thread where it has been covered. I've scoured many different threads about issues, and I can't find it. Apologies.

Regards. Thanks for responding. Yes this is a very specific issue.

It's probably because the IP address you used to reach your domain has now changed, the links now point to a new IP and as a result don't load. In most cases this means that simply updating a DNS record should take care of the issue, if not, there might be more work to be done.

Please tell us some info about your domain, maybe more than what you already provided. Thanks.

What is the DNS record that you need to update? Is it a CNAME record? What's the name of the record? Do you use a web hosting service? Can you access the domain via its IP? Can you access it via another domain? This may all provide more info for helping you out with your issue.

Why are links not opening in the app?

I'm trying to share a link on Facebook and it's not working in the app.

I'm not seeing the pop-up on my Facebook page asking me to allow the app to post.

When I run the app in the simulator, it works fine. However, when I run the app on an actual iPhone 4 or iPad 2, it doesn't work. The app also works fine when I run it in the simulator.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? I just found out what the problem was. When you share a link to the Facebook app, it looks for the URL parameter "url". It's possible that when you're running the app on an actual device, the parameter "url" isn't being passed. To fix the problem, add a space after the url parameter.
