What does it mean if your nail beds are white?

What deficiency causes white nail beds?

White fingernail beds may be caused by a variety of problems, including.

Alopecia - Hair loss. Hair shaft damage, including breakage. Dandruff. Nails that are not broken, worn, or split. The following procedures can correct nail bed problems: Toenail fungus is a condition caused by a fungal infection that can cause the toenails and surrounding skin to become thickened, brown, and infected. Common treatments include medications and home remedies. Your podiatrist can provide further information on managing toenail fungus.

Bunions are a painful deformity of the big toe, characterized by thickening of the bunion pad and bone that can result in pain, swelling, and disability. Treatment options include oral medications and surgical procedures. With either type of treatment, orthotics can be prescribed for extra support.

How is gout treated? A number of treatments may be used to treat gout, but none is a cure. The simplest first line treatment for acute attacks is taking an over-the-counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, such as ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin. However, long-term treatment is needed to reduce the inflammation and prevent new attacks.

Over-the-counter prescription medicines such as colchicine are also used as a first line treatment. They are usually taken once a day or twice a day. If these drugs are ineffective, treatment with one or more of the following may be needed:

A single intravenous infusion of a corticosteroid (eg, hydrocortisone or methylprednisolone), followed by a lower dose oral corticosteroid or colchicine. An injection of anti-inflammatory medicine into the joint (ie, an intra-articular injection). A joint prosthesis. How is patellar tracking treated? When the kneecap does not move into full flexion, a tight quadriceps muscle, or poor cartilage on the kneecap, patellar tracking or the tracking of the kneecap within the socket of the knee joint becomes altered. This may result in knee pain and knee swelling. It is most common among young adults and athletes.

Does white nail bed mean dehydration?

I am going to have my first IUI on Friday, and I am really worried about how much water I drink.

I am a very good drinker (I have had a bladder infection on and off for 10 years, so I know how easy it is to drink too much), but my hands and feet are always dry. I know the problem is dehydration because when I wear compression gloves and use them for about 45 minutes, my hands become dry. My hands feel like leather when I wash them afterwards.

I am not thirsty. The only time I feel thirsty is when I am really busy and forget to eat. In the last week, I have been getting up in the middle of the night several times to go pee, but there is never any sign of urine in the toilet or the floor. I have had to check the doorways, closets, etc. When I came home from work last night because I had an irrational fear that there was someone hiding in one of them and I could be killed. This morning, my hands were so dry that they hurt when I took out my cupcakes. My mouth was dry this morning when I awoke (like a desert), and my lips were chapped.

At the office yesterday, I was talking with someone about the issue. They said that her son has dry hands and feet, too. She said that when he comes home from the pool, his hands and feet are still dry even after swimming.

Any help would be appreciated. I need to know if I should be worrying about drinking enough water. Am I imagining things? I have read that the nail bed is the first to go dry because it is the last to be flushed out.

Re: Is white nail bed really an indication of dehydration? This is definitely a sign that you need to drink more water. It could also mean that you need to drink more.

If you have noticed that you are thirsty, then it is a good idea to drink something before you get up in the middle of the night. Also, make sure that you take a decent amount of fluids prior to going to bed. I would recommend a minimum of 1/2 glasses of fluid per hour for the duration of your sleep period.

Also, have you thought about drinking some more water throughout the day?

What do pale nail beds indicate?

I have noticed that my nail beds seem to be lighter than normal.

When I look in the mirror I see a very light grey around the nail bed. I think this may be a sign of something because I am a very pale woman with blonde hair, but I have no idea what the cause may be or how to treat it.
