Is cancelling ExpressVPN easy?

When I signed up for ExpressVPN a few months back I was promised that it would be easy.

You pay once and then its just like your PC - you never have to install or update any software (from their website). It's great but. A long time ago in Express VPN land I set the servers for the US West region and they have been good to me. My home IP address is in New York City and a lot of sites load fast from that location because it makes sense given that I'm in the NY Time Zone. I use the VPN on my laptop and most web sites load quickly from it so nothing to worry about there. They do have some really powerful features on the server side, that I cannot use because I have no control over which server locations they allocate to me. But this is a personal decision and the convenience of just having one client installation with all my apps installed, and access to Netflix is too much for me to give up and pay for every month to have it. Even more inconveniently, I can't run all my services on this single router/LAN connection which makes it hard for me to just run VPN and access Netflix without a mess. That's where things get tricky. For ExpressVPN I need my firewall and router admin to create an additional exception. Unfortunately they don't even know how to do that. At the time they did recommend using a different brand of firewall, which just means more work for them to do. It might work just fine for other people, but this was a huge problem for me and the ExpressVPN support team had absolutely no idea how to help me either. They had a suggestion on how to change the DNS so the Netflix proxy server would go to the right place for me.

In the end I cancelled my subscription. I think it was cheaper for me to buy a whole year at one time and give it a go than spend time trying to figure out how to fix a system error or problem without support.

You cancel your free trial any time you want, so long as you are under the free trial's cancellation window (which can be found in the ExpressVPN app). If you want to cancel the free trial before the date on which it would otherwise have ended, there is a slightly longer time period in which you cancel the free trial than for regular ExpressVPN plans: the free trial ends 90 days after you sign up for a regular plan. This means that if you cancel within 90 days, you will not lose the money that you paid for your free trial.

Note that you must cancel within the 90 days (or be signed up for an ExpressVPN plan) for this to be the case. If you cancel after the 90 days, but before the end of your free trial, the money you paid will be charged to your account but the free trial will still count against you.
