How do I change my hotspot timeout?

How do I change my hotspot timeout?

My hotspot on Android can work for a while.

It can then suddenly stop working without warning, and I get no network connection. Is there any way to change the timeout?

The setting you're looking for is found in your Android phone's settings under the "General" category. Click that and look at "SDCard & Other Devices". In my device there is an option to set the time limit to 5 minutes, 1 hour, or Forever. It looks like you can also choose between the standard "Always on", "Ask every time" or "Never".

This answer was initially based on OP's comment below the original answer, so I added it as an edit to the original answer, which seems to be accepted by the OP (see @user371249's answer), so I'm just adding it as answer. I had the same problem as OP and found some related questions here: Does the Android Hotspot Timeout App work?
