How do I Download and install Norton Utilities Ultimate?

After downloading Norton, follow the instructions in the read me file to install.

Note: Once you start using Norton you can not go back and undo your actions. So before you get started make sure you have downloaded everything and run the Setup Assistant. It will ask you to close any programs that are running, click yes and then it will go through the install process. You will be asked to restart your computer after the installation.

What do I do when I am ready to install Norton Utilities Ultimate? You will see a screen like this after opening Norton. Click on the link at the bottom of the screen that says Install. This will start the Norton Installer.

This page will show you what you can and can not install on your computer. Click Next until you get to the next page.

When you get to this page you can set permissions for what to backup or protect. Click Next on each selection and then click the Continue button until you get to the Norton Main page.

Make sure to turn off any firewalls if Norton is telling you to because you are about to install security software onto a server connected to the internet. Click Next and then when Norton reads that you have connected to the internet. Click Install Now. If you don't know how to connect to the internet then call a trusted friend and ask them to help. You will need to give Norton permission to install in addition to providing your account information for your computer.

After you click Install Norton will start the installation process. Your install will begin automatically as the process runs. You will be able to watch the progress bar while it installs.

The difference between the basic (free) version of Norton Utilities and the Ultimate (paid) version is quite noticeable and obvious. You can download Norton Utilities Standard Edition to your system. Here's how to do that.
