What proxy should I use?
I would like to use an API for downloading images from some websites and using them in my programs.
Right now I am using a Java web browser, but the problem is that it is very slow. So I am thinking of using a proxy instead. What is your operating system? As you can see in this question, many popular OSes allow one to use a proxy with Firefox. If you're running Windows, I recommend using the Google Chrome Proxy option (it may be disabled by default, but I have never had any issues with it). If you're running Linux or Mac, you can download the Linux equivalent of Google Chrome (it's called Chromium). I think you'll find that using a proxy server will speed up your web browsing quite a bit. Google uses proxies for their browser, and it should be easy to configure the browser to use your own proxy. If not, you can use Google Proxy.
You can use Google chrome proxy settings to do so. For windows, you will need to go to "Tools" -> "Options" and then select the "General" tab and add "" to "Proxy" field. This is the general configuration for the proxy. I am not sure about the same for Linux.
How to solve proxy problem on Windows 11?
I'm trying to setup a proxy on my home network so I can bypass the VPN and internet restrictions of my company.
I've used this guide as a starting point. I've done most of the steps in it, but I'm stuck on step 5 where I'm supposed to add the proxy settings to Windows Firewall (and disable the firewall's default proxy). I have the firewall disabled on my PC, so I'm assuming it's the proxy settings that need to be changed.
Here's what I have so far: I've opened the Proxy settings from Control Panel. I've selected the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" option, and entered in my proxy server's IP address. I've selected the "Use a proxy server for the internet" option, and entered in my proxy server's IP address. I've restarted the computer. I've tried entering in the proxy settings again to make sure it had saved properly, but it still says the proxy is not enabled. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. I had the same problem and finally solved it. Right click on the Internet explorer and go to Tools->Internet Options. There you will see an option called "Use a proxy server for the internet". If you select this option, you must set the proxy address and the port number (and also the username and password).
I did have the same problem and I think I found a solution. In Internet Explorer go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings. Uncheck the option Enable Automatic Configuration Using a Proxy Server. Then set up your proxy.
I think that if you do this it should start using the proxy automatically. If you are unable to find the menu item, I believe the following will work.
