How do I enable proxy on my Wi-Fi?
I have a router TP-Link TL-WR841N.
I want to be able to browse using android device through the internet over a proxy. However, I can't get this to work. My steps:
Enabled ipv4 proxy in settings. Set up wifi on my phone, it connects to my home network, and shows available network options, however, none of them contain ipv4 Proxy. Some of the forums say that this works for all routers, but when I do this, I can't access internet at all, I have to reset router in order to be able to get on internet. Does anyone know of a possible solution to this? Thanks. It is likely that your network is using IPv6. You will need to use an IPv4-capable proxy.
This guide for Ubuntu will work well for connecting via an IPv4 proxy to an IPv6-only home network.
How to set up proxy on TP-Link router?
Hello guys, I have TP-Link router TL-WR841N and my ISP is Netgear N600W.
I want to use both of them together and I want to set up a proxy server to access websites from my smartphone. I have read a lot of articles and guides, but I cannot set up proxy on TP-Link router. I am using TP-Link router TL-WR841N and my ISP is Netgear N600W.
If you are behind a NAT router, there is no way to make the router act as a proxy server. Your best bet is to use a router that is not a NAT router like a Cisco or Linksys router. My ISP is Netgear N600W.
