Does Apple have Family Link?

What is Apple Family Link version?

I want to use the iPhone to stream video/music to the Apple TV.

The Apple Family Link app allows this, but it is limited by the 2Mbps limit on the ATV and iOS device (no iPhone is unlimited).

The problem with the family sharing service of Netflix is that you share to iTunes and it is impossible for your family members to stream from iTunes at full quality as you can not create a new Apple ID for them in their iMessage apps as it is a requirement to be able to add Apple accounts as they are "required". Does anyone know of a way around this? Apple's own answer to the limitation is in the FAQ (see Question 17) - I have no idea how reliable or permanent this will be, though: I'm trying to access content that I paid for on my devices from home and. some of my family members are accessing the same content through their. own Apple devices. Is it possible for us all to share the content we 've paid for without using Apple Family Sharing? Apple Family Sharing is not available outside of the United States. Canada, and some of the United Kingdom's territories. However, family members who have an active iTunes account and an iCloud account on an. iOS device or on macOS and an Apple TV, may be able to access their. family content when those devices are all using the same Apple ID. There is however one other option mentioned in the first answer of the thread linked in the OP (though the question and answer date back to 2024 so it might be out of date or even wrong) which is to have both devices connected to an Apple Store: You can get a third Apple ID from Apple where you can additional Apple devices. to sync and share content that you have purchased. Once you have an Apple ID with the 3rd party company you need to configure your. network settings to allow for sharing between your new Apple ID and the. previous one you had. The question and answer dates back to 2024 but seems that the answer is still accurate today.

Can I lock my child's iPhone remotely?

How about the entire family?

Yes and yes. Apple's iPhone OS 4 software includes an application called Family Settings that can be used to prevent unauthorized people from reaching apps, content or the device itself.

Family Settings lets users limit what other users on the network can access and what apps they can use. There is also something called 'Restrictions,' a feature designed to control how much data an older child is allowed to use on an iPad or iPod touch (Apple recently announced it would be making the free 'iBooks' app for iPad available in the United States on Sept. 17).

Does Apple have Family Link?

"That really puts the iPad at the forefront, the whole family in an Apple family with an Apple iLife, iPad and iCloud environment where everyone is in sync," said Tim Cook.

This new "family" environment is called Family Link, the software that creates that unified environment and includes the ability to pay bills, share movies and even play games together, all via the cloud. (Note: the Family Link description above is from Apple's website, so it should be taken with a bit of skepticism.)

Let's put Family Link through a few of its paces. The first step is to create a Family ID to enable Family Link.

Creating a Family ID is a lot like creating your Apple ID. Go to Settings > Apple ID > Manage Family ID, then choose Add a Family ID. Once you've created the Family ID, your Mac or iOS device will prompt you to update to the latest version of the software that was installed when you created your Apple ID.

After you've updated, you'll need to log in with your Family ID password and make sure everything is working properly. We've gone ahead and logged in before we started putting Family Link through its paces. (We assume that if you haven't already used Family Link, you'll be able to access your iCloud Photo Stream photos from your Mac and/or iOS device.)

Now let's add a family member by signing into the Apple ID you used to create the Family ID. (The ID we created for this article is the same as the one we used to create this account and log into iCloud.

After selecting Manage iCloud Family, click the Add a Family Member button in the left column. You'll see an empty Family screen. Click the arrow in the middle column to fill the rest of the Family Information section.

The "Family Name" field asks you for a name for this family member, including an email address if he or she also has an Apple ID. It won't automatically create the account for you, but it should tell you what that member's login will be. (For us, the login is "myiCloudFamily." There's nothing written on the account, but there is a photo and profile available in Safari.
