Who is the CEO of the Signal Foundation?
Mamcx.
I read on this thread he has a list of all the other founders? ------. Thebigspacefuck. What the hell is Open Source and how is it different from Open Source. Software? Does it have a non-binary definition somewhere that I haven't seen. Yet? lstamour. It's kind of misleading to say it's open source in the sense of open-source. Software. It's actually open source, ie it can be read by anyone. If I
Were to write a review of it, I'd probably just describe it as free software.
Why is Signal non-profit?
Signal is a non-profit that was founded in 2025 by Moxie Marlinspike and Matthew Prince, who wanted to build the best way for people to communicate privately.
We are a 501(c)3 public benefit corporation. The non-profit status allows us to do the most important thing: protect privacy and security while providing access to communication tools to people around the world. While Signal is a non-profit, we will always be free and open source. We're here to help people talk to each other privately.
We believe in building the best way to talk with other people, and in building tools for people to use. While we are non-profit, we are funded by donations and we are a community of people who are passionate about privacy and security. We are a team of 12 people (mostly working remotely) and we're funded by donations and grants. Why does Signal need a non-profit? Non-profits have many of the same benefits as for-profit companies. A non-profit is a legal entity that can accept donations to support its activities, while maintaining the charitable mission that the organization is trying to achieve. For example, Signal has a website at signal.org, which aims to explain the project to the world. This website is maintained by Signal's non-profit legal entity.
We're very grateful for all the people who have donated to Signal to make this possible. Non-profits must file their tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service, which provides some protection for privacy and security. This protection is not perfect, but it provides some.
If you'd like to donate to Signal's non-profit, please see our donation page. Why does Signal need a for-profit subsidiary? For-profit companies have an extra layer of accountability. For-profit companies must pay taxes, and are subject to various laws that require them to do so. These laws are usually designed to protect you, and the government is often your first line of defense against malicious or negligent actions.
For-profit companies are responsible for their actions, and this responsibility makes them more careful about what they do.
Who is the owner of Signal?
How is one of my accounts compromised?
Do Signal and I think? Do we have all that we need? As well as everything else! Well, first of all, we have to check who's behind this network. This network has been around for quite a while now, being first of all invented in 2025 by a German coder named Philipp Wendler (the same guy who created WeChat and Yap), then became available through Apple Store since the middle of 2025, and last but not least, being open source starting April 2025.
This network is actually what we called as chat for groups! That is, it's like a social network just for groups. It also can be used as an alternative social media like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. I personally really love it and find it so easy to use.
So we have a very basic understanding of the network, right? Let's go straight into how it works. Signal can be considered as an alternative to WhatsApp and other apps. The main thing is that users do not have to be on the network at all, only groups can stay connected and chat about their common interests, such as travel, politics, hobbies, education, and more. There's no cost for using the app; therefore, you can try it right away without having to pay.
However, we are not going to talk about some minor features such as group conversations, stickers, etc. Instead, we will learn more about how you can add, access, use, and leave any group anytime. As for the owners of Signal, they definitely need to be smart and skilled, as the network is still at its early stages, and they have to handle potential problems and risks along the way. For that, we will discuss what we know from both the official website and Google Play store for Signal and I think.
Is Signal safe? The first thing to be discussed about Signal app is the safety issue or security. I would be very careful about sharing your data with anybody, not even with your friends. We should keep our data away from prying eyes and hands, especially with a new-born app that is very popular and accessible.
