How do I get my VPN to turn off?
I created a VPN profile on my home computer that I don't use anymore.
Since the profile does not appear on my work computer, it will not allow connections to it when I launch Firefox. How do I delete the VPN or remove the profile from my home computer so I don't have to re-launch Firefox every time? If I could somehow remove or delete this VPN profile from the VPN settings, this should resolve this problem and make Firefox not prompt for authorization again.
On your VPN settings tab: Open your "Trusted sites" settings for that connection. It's usually located at the top of that "tab" as seen below.
If the site is already listed in that list, just click "untrusted" next to the site that's causing the error. You will be prompted for approval to do this (because you're making an update to the site). Enter the name of the site.
To remove the site from your list, choose Remove from the menu that appears.
How do I disable VPN on my Android phone?
Is there a way to disable VPN on my Android phone?
And is it possible to turn off the VPN connection by a hardware switch (like with WiFi routers)? I don't know much about VPN. Is it safe to just disable it and not mess around with the settings and have VPN off on my phone? VPN is used for two main reasons: If you have to get access to remote system(s) that you are not known to. If your are running unencrypted traffic over the open Internet then your data can be intercepted by a hacker who gains access to your network. The security offered by a VPN will help protect your network from prying eyes.
If you want to get a secure tunnel into a public network, usually found at a coffee shop or public library. Once you connect to the public network via VPN you should be fine as long as the private network is using an encryption protocol other than WEP and WPYour data should be safe so long as it's not connecting to another device using WEP or WPA that is logging unencrypted data.
This guide will show how to enable and disable the VPN on your Samsung galaxy S3 which is the phone that I have and will hopefully answer your question. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Enabling the VPN is simple. You just need to tap Settings > Mobile Data. If you are not in a WiFi network that is protected by a password you can tap WiFi on your phone and enter your password when prompted. When your phone displays "You are now connected to", tap the 3 dots in the top right corner of the screen and select VPN Settings. If you'd rather use WPA2 PSK, tap on Settings > More network settings > Wi-Fi settings. Now tap on Security > WPA-Enterprise. Tap on the little box at the top left corner of the screen labeled Passphrase Type. From here you can choose between WPA-Enterprise and TKIP. As you can see in the screenshot above, my WPA-Enterprise is listed as TKIP but in my case I chose WPA2 only. Once you're done configuring WPA, tap Wi-Fi on your phone. The VPN should now be enabled.
Disabling the VPN is slightly different. You need to open Settings > Mobile Data > Network Settings > VPN.
Where is VPN settings on Samsung?
I'm using the free version of Hotspot Shield VPN on my Samsung Galaxy S5.
I cannot find where to enter a VPN settings or other network settings.
Re: ? AFAIK there are no direct settings for VPN, but you can set a proxy that works for you. I usually use Google Chrome as my proxy, and if I need a local proxy, I have found Opera very easy to set up for this.
"That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet." - Romeo & Juliet. That is correct. You can't do it directly with the wifi settings as they are not really supported by Samsung. It requires a setting in the browser as per the above link.
There are no network settings, but you can find a VPN Proxy setting under Privacy Settings. If you set it to use Opera as a proxy, you will have all your web browsing routed through that proxy.
For Opera it is easy to set up the proxy settings. Open the Opera settings and set the proxy to the address Make sure the "Automatic" checkbox is selected. Click save to store the setting, and then close the Opera settings window. Now open the Opera browser and go to Tools -> Preferences.
